Last week Owen and I were invited to a Media Day at the new LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia! It's located right inside the Plymouth Meeting Mall. You'll know you're there when you see a giant giraffe made out of LEGO bricks!
Since the event was during the day, I couldn't take Charlie (we don't take him out of school unless it's a family vacation). Honestly, I wasn't sure how Owen would do because he is only 3 and Charlie is our huge LEGO fan!
As you can see by our pictures, Owen did just fine! There are several LEGO Duplo sections, the indoor pirate ship playground, a slide to race your car, and even a couple areas with really large soft blocks for the little ones!
For older kids, there are LEGO Challenges and building workshops. When we take Charlie, we'll definitely be participating in some of those.
I cannot wait to go back with the whole family! As a matter of fact, we may even purchase annual passes. They're just under $60/person for the year. Even with us living a little over an hour away, I think we'll get enough use out of them to make it worth it.
To start off your day at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia, you take a ride into the center on a LEGO themed ride! You get a magic wand that will let you interact with a few things along the way. I'm pretty sure you can actually do this several times, but we just did it the first time to get into the space.
Need a cool space for a birthday party? There are two party rooms at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia! I know this would definitely be a hit with the kids!
Owen and I were able to experience a 4D LEGO Ninjago movie while there for Media Day. It looks like there will be other movies available to watch as well.
If your kiddos are like mine, they pretty much have to eat everywhere. I was impressed with the selections available in the cafe at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia. There are tables inside in the eatery and out.
If you're in the Philadelphia area (or will be before the end of 2017), you'll want to enter this giveaway! LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia is providing 2 family packs (4 tickets each) for us to giveaway! Just enter using the widget below. 2 winners will each receive a 4 pack of tickets.

Did you have a chance to explore areas that were geared towards older kids, maybe adults, lol? Having a 13 year old, 7 year old, and a 4 year old makes it hard to find activities and outings that are completely family friendly sometimes.

I peeked inside of the building room (kids were building at tables with someone leading the group in the front), but Owen whisked me away pretty quickly. There is a Ninjago lazer maze and a few other things geared a little older. I think it’s aimed at the 3-12 range mostly.

Looks like so much fun! Can’t wait to take Michael and maybe our nephews.

I would take my almost 4 yr old and husband. Are there any truck themed rooms? We’d go there first!
Christina says
There is an area to build your own vehicle and then you an race it down a slide (while you slide next to it)!

My son would love to go! He would enjoy the ride, best! His younger sister is starting to enjoy legos, too!

Oh I’d take my 3 kids (baby is only 9 months) to this! They would simply adore it.
I think any of the creativity areas would be a hit. They are always thinking outside the box.
