To be completely honest, Charlie watches entirely too much tv. Kids these days are exposed to way more screen time than we were growing up. Here’s the kicker: Did you know that only 1 in 8 kids shows are “highly educational”?
Rachel Coleman created Signing Time with her sister Emilie. She has been nominated for an Emmy for her work on the show, which airs on public television, Nick Jr. and Netflix.
Rachel is now bringing you a family-funded program, making smart kids smarter: Rachel & the TreeSchoolers.
About Rachel & the TreeSchoolers
It is based on a complete preschool curriculum, preparing children for kindergarten. This is a show that actively engages children in learning using their favorite things: signs, games, songs, and dance. Rachel & the TreeSchoolers teaches children HOW to learn with the CORI Method (wonder, ask, learn, share).
Why KickStarter?
You may be wondering why Rachel went to KickStarter.
When Rachel took the pilot to tv executives, she was turned down by multiple studios with the reasoning that it was “too educational”. As a mother of 3 children, she just couldn’t believe that. There had to be other parents out there that agreed with her!
Within 30 days, families funded the first 5 episodes!
You can check out the first 3 episodes:
Ep. 1: A Rainy Day Ep. 2: Plants & Flowers Ep. 3: Incredible Insects
You can also preview the next episode, My Amazing Body:
With about 32 hours left, Rachel & the TreeSchoolers needs about $50,000 to reach their goal! You can help by supporting the kickstarter. The way kickstarter works is all or nothing. If they do not reach the goal of $200,000 by Saturday, June 14th at 10:00PM MST, they will not receive any backing.
So, what are you waiting for?
