Family vacations are super important to me. We only have so many summers while the kids are still kids. I’m not saying there won’t be family vacations after the kids are out of high school, but I have to accept that they will be different. Wilderness at the Smokies, Tennessee’s largest waterpark resort and family adventure center, is on our list to visit soon!

Wilderness at the Smokies can work with just about any size family with their wide range of accommodations, from single rooms to multi-room suites that sleep up to 16 guests! In total, they have 713 rooms, suites and villas!

Anytime we have the option of a water adventure with the kids, we go for it! My boys could play in a tiny splash pad for hours. Just take a look at all of the water fun they can have at Wilderness at the Smokies! There are two seasonal outdoor waterparks and an 84-degree year-round indoor waterpark (included for overnight guests). Salamander Springs Outdoor Waterpark and Lake Wilderness Outdoor Waterpark are open from spring to fall (weather permitting) and all summer long.

What I love about Wilderness at the Smokies is that it’s awesome year-round! With Tom’s job, we can’t often take trips during the summer, when most take family vacations. Along with year-round indoor waterpark fun, you can also enjoy Adventure Forest, a family adventure center that features a 3-story ropes course, multi-level laser tag, black light mini-golf, a mega arcade and much more!

Wilderness at the Smokies is the perfect spot for families of all ages! Bring the grandparents for a multi-generational trip! I’m sure everyone will be able to find something they love to do here. Though you don’t really need to leave the resort, some of the area’s most popular family destinations are located just miles away:

    • Sevierville – Dolly Parton’s hometown (less than 4 miles)
    • Pigeon Forge – Dollywood (10 miles)
    • Gatlinburg – Ripley’s Aquarium (15 miles)
    • Smoky Mountain National Park (18 miles)
