The Shirley Journey

Finding Joy in the Journey

Two Weeks in Ireland with Kids

Holidays, birthdays, baby showers – the list goes on and on. Instead of scurrying to find the perfect gift, wouldn’t it be nice to have a gift on hand? Chances are you’ve heard about people having a gift closet, but never thought much about it. Now’s the time. There are so many great reasons to have a gift closet. Let’s look at a few.

Spread Out the Cost

The holidays and even birthdays can be so expensive. Instead of reaching for your credit card, why not spread out the cost? When you have a gift closet, you can start shopping early and store things until you need them. Many people start shopping for next Christmas right after Christmas. It’s much easier to spend $5 here and there than $500 in one go.

Find Great Gifts Throughout the Year

We all see those items that we know would make a great gift for someone. Just because it’s the middle of summer doesn’t mean you can’t shop ahead for winter holidays. Items come and go from stores so quickly that it can be hard to find something that was in the store just a few months ago. Buy it now and save it for later.

Be Prepared

A gift closet also allows you to be prepared. For example, having boxes of chocolates, gift cards, greeting cards, etc on hand allows you to always have something when you need an unexpected gift. This is especially true during the holidays when people show up with an unexpected gift for you.

Stay Organized

It’s also important to have a gift closet because it keeps you organized. This allows you to store everything in one place so that you never have gifts that go missing. Once a birthday or holiday rolls around, just go to your closet and get the gifts you need.

Save Money

Last, but certainly not least, the best reason to have a gift closet is to save money. You can shop clearance aisles and sales throughout the year. You will save so much money and have awesome gifts to give. No one will ever suspect that you scored such awesome deals on everything from perfume to movies.

You may think that shopping for the holidays throughout the year is a bit strange, but it removes so much stress from the season. You never have to worry about being in a crowded mall or scraping up the money for gifts ever again. What are you waiting for? Start stocking your gift closet today.
