Weekends seem to fly by lately, right? It can’t just be me. This weekend I attempted to hit a couple yard sales with the boys. I remember why I like consignment shopping so much! We went to several yard sales that advertised they were “huge” sales and they were not even worth stopping. I seriously did a drive-by at quite a few. I think we ended up getting out at 3.
Charlie was thrilled with his find of the day: a skateboard ramp with a little magnetized skateboarder for $0.25! I was pretty happy finding 2 new sets of Toy Story pjs for him for $1.25 total!
Sorry for the really crappy picture, but I wanted to show you what he got. I can’t find the skateboard, but I’m sure he knows right where it is. For $0.25, it’s perfect! I’m looking on ebay for some more pieces. It’s called Rolly Dome and apparently it’s related to the X Games.
And then like the past couple of Saturdays, we hit up the pool at Nanny and Poppop’s. We played in the pool and then stuck around for dinner. Who doesn’t appreciate ribs and chicken that they didn’t have to cook?
Tomorrow is Poppop’s birthday, so we went out to breakfast on Sunday. With all the kids, we totaled 16 people at breakfast. It’s quite a bit to do a meal out with, but the kids were all rather well behaved, and it’s nice to see everyone without anyone having to prepare their house and/or food. Always a win!
The Cecil County Fair started this weekend, so we’ll go a few times this week. Be prepared for a few posts with our fair visits. I grew up going to the fair and working it for a couple different organizations, but it’s really awesome to take the boys now. That’s one of my favorite parts about growing up where I’m now raising my family- I love that we’ll be able to share the same experiences with our kids as we had growing up.
We donated $1 and Charlie got to take one swing at a truck. The “Smash for a Cure” donations go to our local hospital’s Breast Health Center. My mom is a breast cancer survivor, so this is more than just a fun smash for Charlie. Though when he was done, he told the man, “thank you for letting me play your fun game”. He really can be sweet.
We saw lots of animals, but here’s a few of Charlie with the goats.
Charlie wasn’t really interested in taking a selfie with mom, but oh well. Owen was in awe of the chainsaw show. Boys…
And… my sister (she lives in Kentucky) is here for a visit. We skype rather often with her, but we haven’t seen her face-to-face since Christmas!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
