This is Charlie’s first Valentine’s Day at school! So exciting! I remember making boxes and bags at school getting ready for all of our valentines from our friends. On Charlie’s February calendar, it listed the names of everyone in his class.

We decided to make a quick snack mix that was perfect for Valentine’s Day for our favorite preschoolers.

Valentine's Day Snack Mix with all of our favorite things!
We mostly used ingredients that we keep in the pantry for snacking anyway. Just use however much looks good to you. You know how many valentines you need and having extra isn’t a bad thing. I put the leftovers in our OXO Pop storage container and it’s made a great mommy snack too!

You’ll need:

  • cheerios
  • strawberry sugar wafers
  • mini marshmallows
  • red m&m’s (we used pretzel ones because that’s what we had)
  • raisins or craisins
  • conversation hearts
  • banana chips

Directions:

  1. Cut sugar wafers into 3 parts.
  2. Mix everything together! (let the kids help)
  3. Use a 1 cup measuring cup to pour your mix into sandwich or snack baggies.

Valentine's Snack Mix with a free printable for your tags!

These Valentine’s Day Snack Mix bags are so simple and easy! After we had our baggies all made up, Charlie helped me make some tags to use. Charlie chose a blue heart because blue’s his favorite color! You can print them for free here.

We set Charlie up at the table and he (eventually) wrote his name on all of them. It’s a struggle sometimes to get him to keep trying and practicing. He can do it, but like most children: only when he wants to, on his terms.

To keep it simple, I just stapled the tag on the top of the bag and they were ready to head out the door!

Owen helped himself to the sugar wafers while I was setting everything up.

Sneaking Bites Valentine's Snack Mix

Charlie brought home his giant mailbox of valentines today after school. He was so excited to hand out his snack mix to everyone.

Are your kids giving valentines at school this year?

Me too! These ones were from Save-A-Lot for .99 and they are amazing! So crispy and not stale like some store brands are.
