Before we had kids, we used to host game night at least once a week. After we had Charlie, we were able to keep that up for a while, but soon enough game nights became few and far between. Once we added a second kiddo to the mix, things only got harder.

Life gets in the way and that fun time we had as adults was pushed to the side. We're working on bringing back game nights and making things simpler!

GET A SITTER

If you have little ones, your adult game night may benefit from having a sitter. Maybe someone has an older child that can watch the littles? If not, find a trustworthy sitter to hang out at your house and keep the kids under control for a couple of hours.

GRAB AN EASY MEAL

I won't even pretend that I always cook everything from scratch. I'm a bit of a crazy person and tend to go overboard on things. While I do love doing it, I also realize that it adds a ton of stress and that's not what gathering with friends should be about.

With a quick stop at ShopRite, I'm able to grab a super easy meal that's perfect for a stress-free game night. ShopRite Kitchen Fried Chicken and Coca-Cola™ pair together deliciously.

Right now, you can save $.99 when you buy a ShopRite Kitchen 8-Piece Fried Chicken and either 1.25L Coca-Cola, DASANI 1L OR FUZE Iced Tea 1L with your Price Plus card!

I mean, who doesn't love Coca-Cola and fried chicken?!? Guests are happy and the host is relaxed!

USE DISPOSABLE DISHES

Don't host a get together that's going to leave you with a ton of dishes to do at the end of the night! Being able to just toss everything at the end of the night is a huge relief of stress! Having paper or plastic cups, napkins, plates, and utensils is a big win for me! Oh, and guests will just throw things away as they finish, cleaning up as the night goes on.

HAVE A VARIETY OF GAMES

We have a huge variety of games, some of which have never been played. Depending on everyone's mood for the night, we may want to play a strategy game or something a little more fun and mindless.

Having a variety of games on hand means you can play whatever you're in the mood for. And if you have someone new joining game night, you can play something they're familiar with for their first time with the group.

SHUT THE DOORS

Honestly, real friends don't care if your house is a mess. Don't stress about making sure the house is perfect. They're there to visit with you and have a good time, not critique your house. Just shut the doors to rooms that no one needs to see. Clear off the counters and tables that will be used for gaming and relax!

The point of adults getting together for game night is for adults to have fun and escape the stress of everyday life for a couple of hours. I hope these tips for a stress-free adult game night help. Don't forget to grab an easy meal at ShopRite before game night!

Game night sounds like lots of fun–and you’re right, the more simple it is the more likely that it will actually happen!
