Summertime here in Maryland is all about the seafood. I grew up picking crabs and eating corn on the cob in the back yard. While I’m not a huge fan of crabs anymore (I know, it’s kind of like a crime in Maryland), I do love shrimp!
In Maryland, Old Bay is a pantry staple for things like chicken, fries, shrimp, and of course, crabs! I use it to add a little kick when I make chicken or shrimp salad.
Summer is perfect for sitting on the deck, enjoying a sandwich, and a cold iced tea. Our Maryland-Style Shrimp Salad is a super yummy, yet incredibly easy, way to fancy up your sandwich!
And a sandwich like this deserves a delicious drink! I love Straight Up™ Tea because it’s made with all-natural ingredients and no artificial anything! I can really count on it to deliver true tea taste.
My favorite is Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea Sort Sweet Rooibos and Tom really likes Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea Unsweetened. With three levels of sweetness, plus black, green and rooibos tea varieties, there’s a Straight Up™ Tea for you.
While at Martin’s Food Market, we always head to the seafood department. The boys love checking out the lobsters in the tank and I get shrimp for lunch.
What I love about Martin’s is that they’ll steam and season your shrimp for free! You can’t beat that! So, for our shrimp salad I did cheat a little and had them steam and lightly season it for me.
- 1 lb shrimp, steamed and peeled (I have the Seafood Department steam and season for me)
- ⅓ cup finely chopped celery
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- Stir together celery, onion, mayo, lemon juice, and Old Bay.
- Cut shrimp in half if large. You can chop if you like smaller pieces, but I like chunks.
- Stir in shrimp.
- Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
When you’re looking for Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea, be sure to look for the new sleek packaging!
Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea Sorta Sweet Honey Green Tea and Rooibos are new varieties available now!
Now, make some of this shrimp salad (you may have to double or triple it), grab some Snapple® Straight Up™ Teas, and you’re ready to entertain this summer with very little effort!

Oh this looks AMAZING! We love shrimp but usually just eat in grilled or boiled. Great idea to make a salad/sandwich with it.

Love this recipe and I make quite a bit. Can you use your influence to get Snapple to sell the diet drinks that are not teas on the eastern shore of Maryland or even Delaware? I love them and can only find them in Florida.
