We partnered with Juicy Juice to bring this fun learning activity to you!

We’re finally getting some good spring weather, which means the boys are outside running around the backyard from the time they’re home until it’s too dark to see. We don’t really get a Spring Break here, but if you do – you could create these alphabet painted rocks as a family activity before you play with them.

Owen started Pre-K this year at the elementary school and we’re constantly struggling with his letter recognition. It came so naturally to Charlie, but we all know each kid is different.

We’ve been trying various methods to make letter recognition fun for Owen and I’m super excited about our alphabet painted rocks.

To make alphabet painted rocks, I just grabbed some smooth rocks and painted them a solid color. After that dried, I painted an uppercase letter on the rock. I only painted one side (too impatient), but you could paint both sides.

I made our alphabet painted rocks super basic, but you can get as fancy as you’d like. There are paint pens that can make smaller letters and finer details than my little paintbrush did, but I got the job done.

I love that the kids can grab our little pail that we keep the rocks in and head outside with drinks and snacks for some outside playtime.

These No-Bake Almond Butter Bites are the perfect after school snacks to enjoy outside on a nice day!

I love being able to keep things on hand that the kids love, but that I also feel good about serving! Juicy Juice 100% Juice is one of them! There are so many fresh flavors to choose from like Mango, Berry, Grape, Apple, Fruit Punch or Orange Tangerine. Our kids really love Berry!

Owen loves playing with the rocks and saying each letter as he touches them. This is a huge win for us here.

Of course, he has to spell his name!

I know these are going to get a ton of play, and not just for letter recognition. Charlie can use these alphabet painted rocks to practice his spelling words.

If you want even more letters, you can do lower case and upper case to have kids match the letters.

So, whatever your plans are for Spring Break this year, make it fun! And don’t forget the snacks and drinks!

What a great idea! This is what the kids and I will be doing on Sunday. I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out something creative to let my kids do outdoors.
