In a house of boys, of course we’re all about the superhero everything. The thing is though, my husband and I have always been a little geeky ourselves. When we get the chance, superhero movies are some of our favorite movies to watch together. That said, you can imagine how psyched we were about the new movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Owen was able to see the movie in theater for his birthday with Mommom, but the rest of us had to wait until it came out on DVD and Blu-ray on March 19. We love having movie night in the family room with everyone piled on the couch and snuggled up with blankets.

And… every good movie night needs snacks!

I made up these super simple Spider-Man Marshmallow Cereal Treats for a special movie-themed snack! I’d tell you they were just for the kids, but that’d be a lie.

Of course, you can grab everything you need for your movie night (treats included), at Walmart. Click the image below to shop.

We go through a lot of cereal in our house. It really is perfect for just about any time of day. You know you’ve served your family a bowl of cereal for dinner before. Don’t even pretend you haven’t.

One of my favorite cereals (you can always find a few boxes in our cabinet) is Honey Bunches of Oats® Strawberry. It’s made with REAL strawberries! As a mom, I love that Honey Bunches of Oats® has the wholesome nutrition I want and the yummy honey taste that everyone loves.

We were instantly thrown back into our childhood when I saw Honeycomb® on that Walmart shelf! I love sharing things from my childhood with my kids. Of course, I love reminiscing a bit myself and may be snacking on a bowl while I’m typing this right now.

I thought Honeycomb® would be perfect for our Spider-Man treats because I think they look like little spider webs.

Anyway… back to movie night!

Did you know Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse won the Academy Award for best animated feature? After watching it, I’m not surprised at all! I know it’s going to be a favorite here for awhile.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

The movie is packed with everything a good superhero movie should have, including (what I think is) a pretty long Stan Lee cameo. Man, I’m going to miss him popping into all of my favorite movies.
