We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
Easter Weekend Recap

This weekend, like any holiday weekend, was a bit crazy and full of fun!
Thanks to winning a pack of tickets from Momma Lew, we were able to visit Strasburg Rail Road for the first time as a family. I remember going often when I was little with my aunt and cousins. It’s definitely something I wanted to do with the boys, but wanted to wait until they were old enough to really enjoy it. Owen was still a little too little, but I think he had a pretty good time.
I swear, he really did have a good time! When mean Mommy makes him take pictures though, this is what you get…
We rode the Easter Bunny train, but barely had any time with the Bunny. She stopped at our seat for about a minute. I was able to snap 1 pictures with my camera. Sadly, I didn’t even get in the picture. Oh well. It is what it is. I understand they had a lot of people to see on the whole train. The boys got really cute lollipops shaped like a horse and they thought they were great.
Strasburg has a bunch of other things you can do once you’re done your train ride: a big wooden train to climb in, a playground, hand crank trains to ride, and a small train to ride around the station.
Mr. Independent insisted she not give him a boost, that he could do it himself.
After dinner Saturday, we dyed eggs! You have to dye eggs for Easter, right? I may be 29, but I’m still pretty serious about the egg dyeing. I want to dye my eggs and I don’t want Charlie to mess them up. He wants to dip his eggs in every single color and that’s fine with me, but don’t make Mommy’s eggs ugly!
Sunday was filled with more Easter activities: opening Easter baskets, church and then Easter at Nanny and Poppop’s house!
Owen barely gets the idea of running around and collecting eggs, but he has fun doing it. He would find a few, run back on the porch, slide down the slide, go to Poppop, then remember he was finding eggs.
Charlie couldn’t find any more eggs, so we told him to go walk with Poppop. There were 3 in this picture.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
