We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
4th of July Weekend Recap

I haven’t been doing so great with these weekend recaps, but here’s what we did this 4th of July weekend!
This year instead of fireworks (due to funding), our town did a laser light show for the Salute to Veteran’s Event. While many complained about the changed, I welcomed it! We can see fireworks a few times throughout the year, but that’s not the case with a laser light show.
We did a rubber ducky race, too! It’s a fundraiser. $5/duck and the first one to the finish line wins $X. I didn’t win and can’t remember how much, but it’s something like $300+ for 1st place.

Saturday we relaxed and set off a few small fireworks before the boys went to bed.

Sunday we went to church, a parade and then hung out at my mom’s for the evening for some pool fun, hot dogs & hamburgers, s’mores and fireworks! Definitely a great way to end a weekend!
The water was a bit chilly, but it was perfect after that 2 hour parade in the heat!
Owen especially loved the jet in the pool! He thought it was hilarious!
And who doesn’t love a yummy s’more?
We let Charlie roast his own marshmallow, too!
Did you do anything fun this weekend for the 4th of July?

BBQ at a friend’s house and watching some fireworks from a hill.
