We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

By now you know that we’re all about the easy. With two little ones running around, we need things to be as easy as possible.
Our Sundays are spent at church, even more now that I’m working the nursery. We get to church about 9:15 AM and leave a little after noon. We’re big football fans (as I’m sure you’ve figured out), but we don’t have time to make a ton of fancy things for our game time snacks.
What I do have time to make is an easy nacho bar. And honestly, I can’t even say “make”, it’s more like throw everything out on the table. That’s our kind of style.
To do a simple nacho bar, you need tortillas, cheese, sour cream, onions, ground beef, some taco seasoning, and salsa. Of course, you can also add jalapenos or anything else that suits your fancy.
While the boys were getting settled after church, I quickly cooked up the ground beef, drained it, and added in the taco seasoning to let it simmer in that a bit. Yum!
I grabbed a couple of small serving dishes and put sour cream, shredded cheese, melted cheese, diced onions, and salsa in them. Toss your favorite tortilla chips in a big bowl and you’re all set!
The best part about a nacho bar is that everyone can make their own! My husband likes jalapenos, but I don’t (which is why they aren’t on the table at all. I forget about them since I don’t eat them.
Charlie came down from playing in his room to partake in the nacho bar I set-up to watch our game.
The thing is though, making nachos can be a bit messy. All that salsa and melty cheese being spooned out? I can’t even blame the kids for all of it.
To keep the clean up easy for our game time snacks, I grabbed a pack of Viva® Vantage® 6 Big Roll from the Paper Products aisle at Walmart. I love I can select the size I need depending on the mess.
Gooey cheese, sour cream and salsa can be a pain to clean up, but Viva® Vantage® Towels are fiber-packed sheets that are able to stay tough when they get wet! No ripping or tearing means I can clean up those tough messes easier!
Leaving a roll on the table means that everyone is able to quickly grab the size sheet they need and wipe up the mess. The towels are tough enough to clean up this mess:
But still soft enough to use on the mess on these cuties!
Right now, you can grab a coupon to help your clean up!
I think an easy nacho bar is perfect for tailgating at home. What are some of your favorite game day recipes that are easy to put together?

Great idea! How do you keep the cheese warm enough to spoon onto the nachos?

I have a little dipper crock that I keep it in, but I took it out for the picture since it’s actually a candy melter one 😉
