Glitter & Gold Popcorn - The Shirley Journey

Are you tuning in to watch the Oscars next week? Honestly, I have not seen most of the movies nominated, but I still think it's fun to watch! I actually just checked the list of nominations to see how many I had seen and sadly, the only one is Inside Out.

When you think about movies, you think about popcorn, right? Well, I threw together a popcorn snack that's perfect for The Oscars!

All you need is some popcorn, gold food spray, gold glitter sprinkles, black candies, gold candies, and chocolate candy melts.

If you need to pop your popcorn, do that. I just bought a big bag of ready-to-eat sea salt popcorn. Spread your popcorn out on a parchment lined baking tray. Now spray your gold color mist over it to turn it golden. If you use butter popcorn, you could skip this step. Melt your chocolate candy melts according to the package and pour over your popcorn. Add the candies and sprinkles while it's still hot.

This popcorn is delicious and adorable as it is right now! Toss your popcorn in plastic champagne glasses and they're all set!

But… to make it a little more fitting for The Oscars, I decided to make some gold stars!

These are so easy to make. Just grab some yellow candy melts and a star candy mold. I put some gold glitter sprinkles in the bottom of the molds before I poured my melted yellow candy in.

I think these turned out super cute for our popcorn!
