We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

If you follow us on Facebook, you know we’re in the process of moving to a new house. Exciting, right?!? While I hate the part of actually moving things, I do love the idea of starting fresh.
Our new house has lots of space and I’m super excited to finally be able to decorate for holidays! Of course, the first one up is Halloween and we’re just starting to move in furniture, but I couldn’t resist making a fun centerpiece for our new table.
These ghost luminaries are made with whatever glass jars I emptied this past week. I’m partial to salsa jars though, they always seem to have the coolest shapes!
The first thing you have to do is get off the labels and that sticky residue. I’ve found that soaking the jar with just regular dish soap in hot water works best. I use a cylinder shaped food storage container to do this instead of filling the whole sink. After less than 5 minutes soaking, I was able to lightly scrub the remaining residue off and wound up with completely cleaned jars.
After the jars were dry, I put a thin coat of white acrylic paint on the outside. I thought about applying a second coat, but I wanted the light to shine through and didn’t want to chance it.
After the white had dried, I painted the ghost faces on with black acrylic paint.
Originally, I planned on using battery-operated tea lights, but didn’t think they were bright enough. Tom had the great idea to use glow sticks! I grabbed a couple of green and white ones to mix it up. This time of year, you can find all kinds of glow products and any will work great.
Speaking of new things, Tom just switched over to Walmart Family Mobile this week (he was finishing up our old contract). His phone was on the fritz and it was perfect timing. We picked up a new LG K7 for just $49.88 (Rollback from $89.88)! All we needed to get Tom started was a new Nano Starter Kit, which is on rollback right now for $19.88 (from $25). Since Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 when you sign up.
We love the affordable options that Walmart Family Mobile offers. The Walmart Family Mobile PLUS Plan = Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE plus a free movie on VUDU every month ($7 value) per line for $49.88. While we’re still in the process of moving, we’ve been using quite a bit of data since we do not have internet at the house yet. All of that extra data has definitely come in handy!
All customers who activate new lines on any rate plan from 10/1-10/31 will receive a code providing a free download of the Ghostbuster Virtual Reality Experience, A Magical experience giving users the unique experience of firing a proton pack and looking at ghosts straight in the eye!
Process:

There will be WFM events in stores showing you how to activate a new line and experience the free Ghostbusters Virtual Reality Experience. You’ll be able to find a brochure with details on the WFM plan and VR experience + a plastic 3D hologram. Check out the Walmart Family Mobile Hub page to find an event in your area!
While we were in the Electronics department, we couldn’t help but notice that the new Ghostbusters is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD! We grabbed the Extended Edition, which has over 15 more minutes not seen in theaters plus over 3 hours of hilarious extras! The kids have seen the 1984 film, but haven’t caught the new one yet. Check out the trailer here. We just moved the couch over to the new house, so I’m pretty sure this is going to be our first family movie night there! Once we’re all set up with internet in the house, we’ll be using our free VUDU movie each month through the Roku. We always use VUDU for movie night anyway, so it’s definitely a bonus it’s included in our WFM plan now!
