Is there such a thing as being too active? In our family, our weekly schedule includes soccer, scouts, karate, and church youth group. While all of these activities keep us busy, they’re also a super important part of our lives. I feel as though there are many benefits to having busy, involved kids.

Our Fall schedule looks like this:

Monday – Scouts

Tuesday – Karate

Wednesday – Karate

Thursday – Soccer practice

Friday – Family night at home

Saturday – Soccer games

Sunday – Church

Between all of that, we need to do homework and feed everyone. We're often grabbing something to eat in the car on our way out the door, even if it's just to hold someone over a few hours.

Whether the kids are eating breakfast at the bus stop or we're all eating on the way to soccer on Saturday mornings, we love a mobile breakfast that's filling.

We recently fell in love with Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit Roll-Ups. I picked them up during our latest Target run.

I love that this easy breakfast has all the ingredients rolled up, making it perfect for on-the-go. Did I mention that each serving has 10g of protein? Win! Check the packaging for more nutritional info.

Honestly, I was surprised at how soft and flaky the Jimmy Dean Biscuit Roll-ups were after being microwaved. We've had other biscuit options before and sometimes they can turn out chewy, but these were perfect.

Be sure to check your local store on 8/31 for an in-store demo with this tasty breakfast option, stores may vary.

More often than not, I make sure the kids eat at the house and then realize as I'm walking out the door that I failed to feed myself breakfast. I mean, that's #momlife, right?

If momma ain't fed, she gets a little hangry.

In less than a minute, I can have a great breakfast that's perfect for our active lifestyle.

5 Benefits of Having “Busy” Kids

When kids are super busy, it isn’t always a bad thing. Check out these positives to having active or “busy” kids.

1. Having Busy Kids Promotes Positive Relationships

When kids are out doing activities that they love, they are bound to meet kids that also enjoy the same activities. Positive relationships are important in any child’s life. My kids have great relationships with those who are also involved in the activities that they are in. They have positive relationships with adults and with the kids.

2. Being Busy Can Help Kids Gain Confidence

Kids that are involved in activities that they love will be able to gain lots of confidence. While starting out, the child may not have much confidence, but as they get better, their confidence will continue to grow. In no time, they’ll be so excited to show you what they’re learning in the activities they’re involved in.

I 100% believe that being active can help kids gain confidence.

3. Being Busy Can Help Kids Learn Teamwork

As most parents know, when kids are at home with their siblings, they seem to only fight. However, when the kids are out being active and doing things they love, they are learning teamwork. When they are doing their favorite activities, they won’t have the chance to bicker back and forth. They will be too busy learning about teamwork, which is so important.

Remember, teamwork is not reserved just for sports teams – for example, scouts build things and set up campsites.

4. Being Busy Builds Character

Character is what you do when nobody's looking. This is so true for kids who are doing activities. You may not be able to watch them the whole time, but they are gaining lots of character. They are learning from their teachers and they are also learning from those they are hanging around.

Being busy isn’t always a bad thing because our kids are learning character skills that will carry them through life.

5. Having a Busy Kid Helps Your Kid Never Stop Learning

I don’t know about you, but I love it when my kids are busy with activities that they enjoy. To me, this means they are learning. My oldest has some anxiety and he needs to know what’s happening every day. He needs that routine and structure. So, I encourage him to get involved in things that he loves.

If your kid is into science, look for a science club or local library for activities. Your kid likes horses? Try horseback riding – there is a ton to learn there! No matter what your kid is into, you can find an activity that fits their interest and shows them that learning is fun. I’ve learned that having active kids helps your kids never stop learning. They grow nonstop and have so much fun doing it.

So, I’d have to say that there are a lot of benefits of having an active kid. What are your thoughts on this?

Being busy and involved in different activities can do wonders on the morale boost for kids. It will help them find a passion for activities even at a very young age. Not to mention avoiding the negative influence of “screen time”! I love this post, Christina. Thanks for sharing!
