We found a great Groupon a couple months ago for an overnight at the Francis Scott Key Family Resort in Ocean City, MD.

My husband works for a company that does seasonal business. Well, the season is getting ready to go full force, meaning less family time for us for awhile. We scheduled our night away knowing it would be the kick-off of less daddy time.

We stayed in the Carolina building, which is about a minute walk from the Caribbean Key indoor pool.

The room was really nice and bright, which is exactly what you want when you’re at the beach. In the back there’s a sink on the right and then a room on the left with the toilet and shower. The mattresses were AMAZING. I’ve never slept on a Tempurpedic mattress before, but I want one now.

There’s a nice sized playground that we took advantage of (even though it was very cold on Sunday). On site, there’s also a putt-putt golf course, an outdoor pool, a Pirate ship splash park outside, basketball courts, volleyball courts, horseshoes, an arcade room, fitness rooms, a pavilion area, and some other amenities I’m sure I’ve forgotten.

Owen loved his swimsuit and getting ready for the pool.

We loved the Caribbean Key indoor pool area (or Pirate Pool according to Charlie). I didn’t get pictures of the whole pool area, but you can see them on their website. With two little ones, it’s a little difficult to take your phone near the pool.

We had a fantastic stay and we would definitely go back to the Francis Scott Key Family Resort. Think Dirty Dancing style resort, but without the snooty rich people.

You can find them on Facebook.

I’ve been to Ocean City. I have cousins who live in Bethesda, so I already have a place to stay when I am in the area, but that place looks really nice.

I assume the property was owned by Francis Scott Key or his relatives at one point. They should make everyone sing the national anthem every morning.

Looks like a great family type hotel–thankfully they have an indoor pool-I would love to go there when it is summer to take advantage of the putt putt golf course-I haven’t played miniature golf in ages! Your sons looked like they were having a really great time.

That looks like a nice resort. I like that they have Temperpedic mattresses. We slept on one a few years back at a hotel and I thought it was the best sleep I’d ever had!

Sleeping on a comfy mattress definitely makes all the difference when it comes to staying in a hotel. I recently stayed at the Sofitel and I didn’t want to leave the bed! I love that your room was so colorful and cheerful!

Looks like a nice time! That playground is great to be so close. And, those Tempurpedic mattresses are amazing.

I think kids should be in the water as soon as possible. Looks like your two like it already.
