We actually did this after dinner last night because Charlie insisted (and the pasta was dry).
I took a piece of cardstock paper and drew a circle on it by tracing a bowl with a marker.
I dumped out some of the pasta and we started to make a face. Every piece that Charlie put on, I asked him what color it was and whether it was little or big.
His boy has 2 eyes, a little nose, 2 ears (the red elbows are ears), and a mouth.
Then he added some hair and a shirt…
And a whole bunch of stuff on his face…
After he decided that his boy’s face was done, we put the rest of the dyed pasta in a cleaned out plastic mayo container. They’ll be all ready for our next craft 🙂
Dyed pasta makes for some great lessons for toddlers: sort by shape, sort by color, make patterns, counting and I’m sure you can easily come up with some more!
