Winter is upon us which means colder weather, inclement weather conditions, and being much more careful with your driving! The winter weather conditions can be extremely brutal depending on where you live and I would highly recommend keeping some essentials in your trunk for easy access and keeping you safe! Today I am going to be sharing with you a few things that I think are absolutely essential to keep in your car with you this winter!

Winter Essentials to keep in car

Windshield Wiper Fluid:

Windshield wiper fluid is a winter essential! The fluid helps to melt ice from the windows of your car and also cleans your windshield from all of the snow and salt that gets all over your windshield throughout the winter.

An Ice Scraper:

Chances are your car will probably have ice or frost on your windows every morning in the winter season if you live somewhere that it is cold. This is why I highly recommend having an ice scraper/brush in your car.

Blanket:

I like to keep a light blanket in my car for a couple of reasons. First, on the REALLY cold mornings I like to wrap it around me for a little bit of extra warmth while I drive, but also you never know if you will break down, run out of gas, or get into accident and be stuck in the freezing cold with no heat…keep a blanket in your car to help warm you up!

Kitty Litter:

I know this one sounds a bit strange but I promise it's an absolute essential! Kitty litter is an awesome substance that will help you when you're stuck in a rut. If you put kitty litter under your tires when you are stuck in the snow.

Snacks:

Once again as I stated before, you never know what will happen when you are out driving in the winter weather conditions so I definitely recommend keeping some food in your car as well! Keep things like granola bars and crackers that will not freeze and that will last a long time. This way you're never left hungry if you were to break down or get stuck somewhere!

These are just a few things that I find to be essential during the winter time and I always have on hand because you never know what is going to happen out there on the roads! So make sure that you stay safe, and be prepared out in that dangerous weather!

I thought I used to know how to plan my winter travels until recently when I was caught at my cousin’s place. It was snowy and couldn’t clear the windsceen. I realized that I really needed some Windshield Wiper Fluid. I had the scraper but the manual work wasn’t just enough. Thanks for sharing this tips.

Better to be ready and safe than be sorry. I once experience being stranded and I would definitely no longer wanna experience that.
