In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd, I thought I’d make this week’s Friday 5 post about Dr. Seuss.

For Charlie’s 1st birthday, I went all out Seuss style! Here’s 5 pictures from his party:

Dr Seuss 1st Birthday

I ordered these awesome plates and tablecloth from Birthday Express.

Green Eggs and Ham

Deviled eggs are a must have at all of our parties! We just added a little green food coloring to tint the eggs yolks green.

Cat in the Hat Oreo Hats

I made these the day of the party because I didn’t want the oreos to get too soft. To make them, just take an Oreo half and then alternate between white icing and red lifesaver gummies. Cute and yummy!

Birthday Boy Dr. Seuss bib

His cake was a Cat in the Hat Hat before he devoured it. I can’t believe my boy will be 3 in April! This picture feels so long ago now! I got his bib at Amazon:

The Tooth Book favors

For favors, we did toothbrushes, so I put them in a bowl next to The Tooth Book and a sign that I made that reads:

Lots of sweets and candy may seem like a dandy,

But our teeth come in handy when we want to smile,

So take a toothbrush and brush real good,

So you can keep your teeth around for awhile!

Meanwhile, we read to our kids in school today. And for the 6th year I am there, the Principal and the assistant came in with their Thing 1 and Thing 2 outfits to celebrate Dr. Seuss!
