I’m Going to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration: On The Road

For those that don’t know (I didn’t until I started blogging), Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is an amazing blogger event that Disney hosts each year. This event is invitation only and it’s described by bloggers as a pixie dusted email when it arrives! At this “conference”, attendees are invited to take part in special events, movie screenings, yummy meals, and never-ending entertainment, all while learning more about the blogging world and Disney Parks. The best part? They get to bring along their family (at a deeply discounted rate)! I am so super new to the blogging world that I can only dream about getting a pixie dusted email invite someday in the future.
However, for those of us still dreaming of that magical invite, Disney Social Media Moms Celebration takes it show on the road for half-day conferences! This year they are going to Chicago, Philadelphia, and Phoenix. I was invited to attend the Philadelphia On The Road Celebration!
I was super excited at quickly accepted my invite for June 19th! I haven’t quite figured out what I’m doing with the boys yet during this time because it’s a Thursday and Tom is working doubles on Thursdays. We live just about an hour away from King of Prussia, where the Philly conference is being held. I assumed it was only local(ish) bloggers that attended, but there’s people flying in from all over the place! They’re booking hotels and hanging out the night before. Since we’re so close, I’ll be hanging out to socialize after the conference and return home in the evening. Apparently, this is a much bigger deal than I first thought. How cool is it that I got invited to go?!?
Once I realized how big of a deal this is, I started to freak myself out. What do I wear? What all should I bring? OMG! I don’t have business cards and apparently I need them to hand out to everyone I meet?!? But I need a better header and a real logo before I do business cards. So that’s what I’ve been working on this week with Melanie from Adorability Designs. So keep an eye out for a bit of new look! I’m still deciding on my outfit (but I have another 3 weeks and I’ll probably make my final decision the night before).
The speakers in Philadelphia this year that I’ll get the opportunity to hear: Amy Bradley, Jen Groover, Alicia Overby, and Debi Silber.
