We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

I know I have told you about the boys’ endless snacking. With all that snacking, we need to make sure they have smart choices available.
One of our go-to snacks is applesauce. I love that there are so many flavor options available now! We’re able to pick up several things of applesauce and still have a variety of snacks. And, when they’re in pouch and cup form, that’s even more!
I made sure to stock up on some of our favorite Mott’s® Apple Juice and Applesauce this week. In our house, they never last long.
Did you notice some furry friends on the Mott’s labels? Right now, when you buy Mott’s Apple Juice or Mott’s Applesauce, you can cash in on these offers:
- Purchase any 3 Mott’s Apple Juice or Applesauce to Receive a Free Child’s Ticket (Mott’s on pack offer) for The Secret Life of Pets
- Purchase any 5 Mott’s Apple Juice or Applesauce to Receive an additional $8 movie voucher
And… the offers can be stacked! If you buy 5 products, you’ll be eligible to receive the Free Child’s Ticket as well as the $8 movie voucher!
In our house, we recycle as much as we can. That also includes making fun things with containers instead of tossing them.
With our applesauce cups, we put together some quick puppets, which are sure to keep the kids busy for a few minutes! We’ll call that a win-win situation for Mom: a smart snack choice and a little bit of peace!
After we rinsed and dried our cups, Charlie painted one yellow and one black. We just used some washable kid-safe paint, but you could use acrylic paint also.
After our painted cups were dry, we added some eye stickers. You could also use googly eyes that you need to glue on.
I realize that our dog mouth would be better if it were more like a folded piece of paper that hung out like a tongue, but Charlie thought this fuzzy pipe cleaner would be a great mouth. I love when he has an idea and just runs with it. He really is a creative little boy and I hate steering him in a different direction. Anyway, as you can see, both our cat and dog puppets have the same pipe cleaner mouth. We just used a little glue to hold it on.
After the mouth dried, we flipped our cup over to attach a wooden stick to the back. Just some glue on the top and bottom rim of the cup, place the stick, then let dry.
The only thing left to add are the ears! We folded a piece of construction paper in half and drew a triangle for the cat’s ears and a big oval-like shape for the dog’s ears. By doing this, both ears were the same after we cut them out. I glued the dog’s ears near the top of the cup and glued the cat’s on the rim.
Seriously friends, these are super easy and so fun for your little ones to customize with colors and shapes to get it just how they want it.
I can only imagine some of the stories these cute Dog & Cat puppets will find themselves in.
Be sure to grab some of your favorite Mott’s Apple Juice or Applesauce and take advantage of the movie promo deal with The Secret Life of Pets. I know it’s on our list to see this summer and now we’re getting in for free!
