Whoa! Did you see our Kings Dominion adventures on Sunday? We had a blast!
We took the kids last summer for our first family trip to Kings Dominion. The kids had a great time, but I didn't get in on too much of the action. If you've been following my weight loss journey, you know that one of my biggest goals was to be able to enjoy more rides with the boys this year. Well, those 25 lbs I've already lost in 2017 have made that difference!
For the first time in about 7 years, I rode a roller coaster! As a teenager, I was always one of those people that would stand in line for an hour to ride a 90 second coaster. While I never missed the waiting, I definitely missed riding the roller coasters!
I went on a roller coaster! #ad #kdfirsttimer

Seriously friends, I felt like a kid again with the waiting in line and getting anxious while the attendant checked to make sure I was secure before the ride took off.
I could have ridden all of the coasters on Sunday, but… we were there for family fun and the boys are not quite big enough to go on all of them yet. I definitely suggest getting wristbands for the kids (you can have an attendant give you the correct color at any ride) so they do not need to be measured each time and you'll know which rides they can do before even trying.
Owen is tall enough now to ride his first roller coaster though! He's definitely my fearless child and was super excited to ride a roller coaster with Mommy!
We rode The Great Pumpkin Coaster together and he loved it! As soon as it stopped he said “do it again” and he did, but this time with Daddy.
When we visited for The Great Pumpkin Fest in the fall, Charlie rode The Great Pumpkin Coaster and was not crazy about it because he doesn't “like roller coasters”. Well, this time he loved it! That is a huge win for us. Maybe he actually will ride some big coasters with Mommy in a couple of years.
I think Charlie rode The Great Pumpkin Coaster four times within 30 minutes. Even rode by himself! Or planned to until a little girl decided to join him in the front seat!
We've been to Kings Dominion three times in less than a year and each time it's so different. Planet Snoopy is the largest children's area in the market and has the most rides for the entire family to experience together. That's why I love it so much! We can all get in on the action in Planet Snoopy, it's not just for the little ones!
For 2017, they expanded the 14-acre kids' area with three new family thrill rides, including Kite Eating Tree, Sally’s Sea Plane and Peanuts 500!
Honestly, we never end up riding the same rides because we get into something different each time. When we left on Sunday, we realized we didn't even make it over to the Kite Eating Tree or Peanuts 500! They will for sure be our first stops on our next trip!
Something new that just started at Kings Dominion is FunPix! It is the easiest way to capture, collect and share your amazing time at Kings Dominion. Throughout the park, there are several photo opps (including a selfie station) to add to your collection throughout the day. You'll zap the QR code on your card to add the pictures from select rides and even roving photographers! I'm super impressed with this and I definitely recommend taking advantage of this offer. You can select a daily photo pass or a season pass. Being able to download all of our photos and share them instantly is definitely a win!
If you've been to Kings Dominion with your family, I'd love to hear what your favorite roller coaster is and which ones your kids really like!

I’ve actually never been. Looks like fun and something or whole family would love.

The boys will love the two new rides they missed. Michael rode each at least 5 times, if not more. He loves the Woodstock Express in the kids area and Ricochet (always our first ride of the day).
