I received the Little Mermaid Legacy Collection CD as a member of the Entertainment New Media Network.  No further compensation was received and all opinions are my own.  This post may also contain affiliate links.

All of a sudden I feel ridiculously old. This year The Little Mermaid is celebrating its 25th Anniversary! How is that even possible? I remember watching this movie when it first came out like it was yesterday! And you better believe I preordered my copy on blu-ray 6 months before it was released.

The Little Mermaid Legacy Collection

The CD cover and 20-page booklet include new artwork from Lorelay Bove, a visual development artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios who you may recognize from Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph. It really is beautiful! And if you can’t remember the words to some of your favorite songs, the lyrics are right there in the book.

I was super excited to receive this CD set and not for the boys. I mean, sure, Charlie likes The Little Mermaid, but it’s Mommy’s movie.

This week we took a 12 hour drive to visit my grandparents in Kentucky and I made sure to grab this to listen to along the way. It’s amazing to me that I can visualize the entire movie while listening to the music. The 2-disc set is about 72 minutes worth of music, so I’m pretty sure it covers the entire score.

As a kid I didn’t appreciate how awesome the score really is for the movie. I have to admit though that my favorite song is still “Kiss the Girl”. How can you not love that song? It’s been on my iPod as long as I’ve had one.

Charlie often wants to listen to “his” music while in the car, so I wasn’t sure how this would go over. He actually really liked it, even the songs that don’t have words. There’s just something extra magical about The Little Mermaid. Listening to the music takes me back and it almost instantly warms your heart.

I think that Hercules is totally underrated! Great music! I always liked the Hero to Zero song and I Won’t Say I’m in Love. 😀

I would say the “Le Poison, Le Poison, hee hee hee huh huh huh” (whatever it is called) from Little Mermaid. Love it! Second favorite may be the opening song from Beauty and the Beast.

My favorite songs would have to be from “Beauty and the Beast”. I guess my top one would have to be Gaston.

I have so many favorite songs, I love everything from the little mermaid and beauty and the beast. One that always has me singing along though is Bare Necessities from the jungle book.

I love so many of the Disney songs it’s hard to pick a favorite. If I have to choose one I’ll go with “Something There” from Beauty and the Beast.
