We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

We love VeggieTales at our house, but the timing of the newest movie is perfect for our house. Charlie has been on a space-obsessed phase lately. We sat down as a family to join Captain Cuke (Larry the Cucumber) and his loyal first officer, Mr. Spork (Bob the Tomato), as they embarked on an out of this world adventure to save the galaxy from a space pirate. Along the way, the entire Veggie crew learns a valuable lesson about sharing: if you have enough to spare, you have enough to share!
Why I love it:
I love that I can pop in a VeggieTales dvd for Charlie and know that he’s getting a wholesome message while being entertained.
I love that they stress Bible principles that we find so very important, yet extremely rare these days in main-stream media.
I love the songs that incorporate the message of sharing. You’ll find yourself singing them long after the movie is over. For a child, it’s a great way to reminding them of the message.
I love there’s a bit of humor and references in the movie that only mom and dad will get. Don’t worry- it’s definitely clean humor, but we love the added touch.
There are discussion point in the Bonus features of the dvd that allow you to really talk about it if you’re unsure how to address something.
Be sure to follow VeggieTales on Pinterest for some awesome printable activities to go along with The Fennel Frontier!
You can order VeggieTales Veggies in Space: The Fennel Frontier starting today on the VeggieTales website.
We’ve watched this several times already and I’m sure the new “Space Cucumber movie” will be added into our favorites rotation!

The wholesome message is the most important aspect of the Veggie Tales. Nowadays you cannot even trust most of the programs on Nick and PBS
