As you’re well aware, we love VeggieTales and I never mind adding a new video to our collection! We were really excited when our copy of Beauty and the Beet arrived!

Charlie wanted to put it in right away and of course, I did so and took advantage of the free time I had. Charlie and Owen both were entranced immediately. I, of course, loved hearing Kellie Pickler sing so many songs! Kellie Pickler stars in this VeggieTales spin on Beauty and the Beast and does a fantastic job.

From Family Christian:

In Beauty and the Beet, Mirabelle and her traveling family band, the Veggie Tones, are determined to make their next gig at Vegetable Square Garden. On their journey, a fierce winter snowstorm hits, and the family gets stuck at a run-down resort!

Mr. Beet, the grumpy manager makes them sing – and clean – for their supper. Why is Mr Beet such a beast? And can Mirabelle’s kindness change him? Find out in this hilarious and heartwarming VeggieTales story of unconditional love.

The theme of this movie is unconditional love and shows us that God loves all of us, all of the time. This is a great theme for kids and all the silly songs help drive it home. Charlie was pushed down at school last week and we were working with him on being kind, no matter what. It’s a struggle to be nice to people even when they’re mean to you, but this VeggieTales did a great job. You can grab the soundtrack here.

I love VeggieTales because they’re entertaining for the kids, but they they are truly wholesome. I can pop one in and not worry about what the kids will be exposed to. There’s always at least one catchy song (and who doesn’t love a Kellie Pickler song?) and a good moral lesson.

From December 15-24, Beauty and the Beet is on sale for $9.99 at Family Christian. Head on over and grab your copy!

Veggietales is our favorite to watch with the kids. This is usually what we play during our family bonding times.
