When was the last time you went on a date with your husband? I’m trying to think when the last time was that we went out. It’s been a couple of months at least. The thing is that once you have kids, it’s so much harder. You have to take into account babysitters, budget and the fact that you’re just plain tired. Although date night is important at anytime in your life, I think it becomes even more important once you’re married with kids. We all really need that time with our spouse to connect and remember why they’re so awesome to us, and not just on a parenting level.
Today I’m sharing with you an easy idea for Date Night at Home that costs less than $25! If you’re nerdy like my husband and I are, it’s right up your alley! Lucky for us, a new FANTASTIC FOUR movie is coming to theaters soon and we’re putting a superhero spin on this date night at home.
If you don’t already have the first Fantastic Four movies, you can grab them while you’re at Walmart grabbing snacks for your date night. Of course, this will probably put you over the $25 limit, but you’ll have them for the future, so it doesn’t really count!
Now about those snacks! We like heavy snacks around here, something that really satisfies. Thanks to Tyson Any’Tizers®, this is super easy to do! If you live in a cave and haven’t heard of Tyson Any’Tizers, they’re a line of easy-to-prepare, frozen snacks. The best part? They’re made with all white-meat chicken!
If you’ve seen our parties, you know I love to do themed food. Tyson Any’Tizers are great for Fantastic Four themes: Mr. Fantastic and his stretchable body = Chicken Fries, Human Torch is a thrill-seeker that shoots fireballs = Buffalo Boneless Wyngz, Invisible Woman is amazing on her own = Popcorn Chicken, and The Thing is rock-solid and virtually indestructible = Honey BBQ Boneless Wyngz.

Before you start your movie date night at home, put the kids to bed, toss all that laundry you have piled up on the couch in a basket and ignore it. You don’t have a pile on your couch? I know it’s not just me! Get your pajamas on, grab a blanket to snuggle and enjoy a care-free evening in! We have a great activity for you that will get the conversation going with what may feel like your long-lost spouse. Click on the picture below to print out 2 pages of conversation starters that have a superhero twist to them. I also included a blank page so you can create some of your own.
You can store these in just about any container you’d like. If you have little ones, I’m sure you have some containers around that you can decorate. An empty mason jar or any container will work great. I grabbed a couple of sticker sheets from the scrapbooking section at Walmart (they were only .97) and added a little personalization to our Conversation Starters.
Conversation starters are a great way to connect. You could do a few before or do one every so often while watching the movie. It’s simple, one person pulls a card from your container, reads it and answers it. The idea is that these aren’t yes or no questions. You’ll have to think about it and will end up creating a real conversation. While I’m using these for date night while watching a superhero movie, you can also use these with your kids to get the lines of communication going.
You’ll find Tyson Any’Tizers in the frozen snacks aisle! My store was out of the specially marked FANTASTIC FOUR packages, but keep your eye out! They’re only available in Walmart stores.
