Influenster sent me a complimentary coupon to try an Annie’s Homegrown Family Size Frozen Entrée.  These are easily found at Target, with choices including: Butternut Squash Macaroni & Cheese, Shells & White Cheddar with Chicken, Classic Macaroni & Cheese, and Lasagna with Meat Sauce.

I am very curious about the Butternut Squash Macaroni & Cheese, but I’m often scared to really try something completely different. I make macaroni and cheese and lasagna often, so I decided to grab the Shells & White Cheddar with Chicken. It sounded delicious and looked fantastic on the package.

As you can see, once it’s cooked, it looks nothing like the pretty picture on the package. In the container it looks rather blah and mushy. This is supposed to be a family size frozen entrée, but the serving size is only 3. It was enough for my husband, myself, and my toddler. We probably would have eaten more if there was any left after our first plate. I served this with green beans and biscuits because as a standalone dish, this would not have been enough for two people.

Charlie loved this! His favorite food is “noodles and chicken”, so this was right up his alley. You can cook Annie’s Homegrown Frozen Entrées two ways: the microwave or the oven. The oven, of course, takes longer (about an hour total), but with frozen meals like this, I’ve found it tastes better in the oven. Overall it was very tasty and great for a no-brainer dinner. I would definitely pick this up again and recommend it.

At my local Target, it was priced at $7.64, which I don’t think is bad at all. What is even better is you can get a coupon for $2.00 off 1 Annie’s Homegrown Frozen Entrée right now!

I have tried their boxed mac and cheese before, but none of the frozen. I will have to get some for the kids to try! 🙂

I like Annie’s Brand food. We are a GF family, so we really appreciate their GF macaroni and cheese. I do like their principles, as they agree with my own. I will have to see if any of their frozen foods are GF.
