About ten years ago, we found a game called Settlers of Catan. The name has recently been shortened to Catan, which is what most of us called it anyway. Catan was one of the first German-style board games to achieve popularity outside of Europe. The strategy game is fairly simple to learn, but can become more complex with all of the expansions and scenarios available. The basic idea of the game is to build settlements, cities, and roads to connect them as players settle the island. Because the game board is made of hexagonal tiles, the board is actually different each time!
If you have someone that loves Catan, these are some great gift ideas for them. If you have someone on your list that loves strategy games, add Catan to their list and snag a few gifts!
