If your kiddos love Curious George as much as mine do, they'll totally love this Halloween costume idea!

Getting these two to cooperate for pictures before heading to the school's Fall Fest was not exactly easy, but you can see how awesome they look!

Owen's costume was the easiest. The monkey. I could have purchased a Curious George costume, but I thought I'd be good with a general monkey. I found this one at a consignment sale for $8! Perfect! So, check your yard sale groups and consignment stores for monkey suits!

I found a Man in the Yellow Hat costume for adults, but none for kids. I figured it couldn't be hard to put one together. I picked up a white dress shirt and white pants at a consignment sale. The pants were actually karate pants and worked out perfectly. Light khaki pants will work as well.

I used lemon colored dye and made our own yellow suit! The hat was the tricky part. I used this tutorial for the hat, but I don't sew (though I'd like to get back into that). I used Liquid Stitch and it worked perfectly! For the black trim around the hat, I used black ribbon stuck on with double-sided hem tape. I did have a little trouble getting the hat to stay up on Charlie's head (I made it a little big), so we stuck another hat under it to hold it up.

The Man in the Yellow Hat (whose name is actually Ted) wears tall boots. Charlie wore tall black socks with his pants tucked into them and snow boots over top. Not perfect, but I think it gets the point across.

I used more felt to create a simple tie and painted some black dots on it.

The boys had a great time at Fall Fest at Charlie's school and we got a ton of compliments on their costumes.

We nailed it on the Halloween costumes this year!

Your kids look so cute in their costumes! You did a fantastic job coming up with the idea and putting it all together.
