We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
Fear Of Missing Out

I’ve noticed a new hashtag going around lately. Have you seen #FOMO? I had no idea what it meant. Apparently, it means Fear Of Missing Out. It’s a real thing. As a parent, there are a million things going on all the time and I don’t want to miss anything.
While I don’t have a lot of sinus pressure issues (only a few times a year), it’s a constant battle for my husband. Where we live, there are a ton of outdoor activities that can bring up sinus pain.
I look forward to zoo trips, playground playdates, walks around the neighborhood and trips to the local orchard.
We have a membership to the local zoo. Definitely could be a trigger. But who wants to miss this?
You only get so many chances to head to the zoo and take in all the awesomeness before the kids outgrow it. Sitting at home feeling crappy isn’t an option, so we make sure Daddy takes SUDAFED® so he can enjoy the day, too!
Did you know there are only 936 weekends between birth and your kiddo turning 18? It sounds like a lot, but we all know the older kids get, the less chance they’ll probably be spending those weekends with you.
This is a picture of Owen swinging in the backyard last April. He’s grown so much since then and I know no one wants to be stuck inside moping about when there’s this much fun being had outside!
So yes, #FOMO is a real thing. Charlie’s getting ready to start his second year of baseball (sunshine league) and I don’t want to miss any of it. I’m sure we’ll be using SUDAFED to help get me through so I can enjoy all of the craziness that will ensue. Hopefully, Charlie stays on the field a bit more this year. Last year, he was so excited and just wanted to run around collecting all of the prickly balls on the side and putting them in his hat. At least he was cute and had fun.
Summer is coming and I plan on spending a chunk of it in a pool! With two littles, though it’s possible to do on my own. I don’t want to. I want Daddy to be able to enjoy it, too!
And on the occasion when we have a babysitter (read: grandparent) to watch the boys for the evening, I want to be able to go out for date night! I’m certainly not missing out on that!

I want to spend my time enjoying life. I don’t want to suffer from Fear of Missing Out or #FOMO. I don’t want to miss any of those big moments (though they seem little now). Being stuck inside sick with sinus pain is not going to happen to us thanks to SUDAFED. Whether we’re playing inside or we’re out and about, SUDAFED® gives us relief from sinus pain and allows us to really enjoy everything with the kids (or maybe without).
Do you have #FOMO?

My husband has allergy issues that prevent him from being comfortable outdoors without medication. I hope he can join us for things like zoo trips!!

Wow, I’ve never heard of #FOMO until now. I’ll definitely be doing a search of the hashtag on twitter, IG, etc. to see the kinds of things that people are posting. Also, I can’t agree with you more in regards to enjoying the outdoors with your children (and doing so without sinus pressure). Spring isn’t even here yet and I’m already starting to have issues, but I refuse to stay indoors. So thanks for the information!

I actually struggle a lot with allergies, and when things get bad, Sudafed is actually one of my go-tos!

Great post. I’m think I’m a bit off and on when it comes to FOMO. And I’m okay with that. There has to be reality, too…but I don’t want to miss too much! Illness and allergies certainly can impact us.

I hate feeling like I’m missing things too! I’m trying to better at just focusing on the things I am doing and realizing I can’t do everything! Feeling healthy sure help me be able to do more!
