I was recently given the opportunity to review a something new to the US called Heroes of the City. Going off of the name alone, I knew it would be a hit in my house.

About Heroes of the City:

Heroes of the City is a television cartoon about rescue vehicles in a small town where everyone can be a hero!

Follow the fantastically exciting adventures along with friends in town.  Meet Paulie Police Car and Fiona Fire Engine as they help the townspeople find thieves, put out fires, and solve one of the many mysteries that happen in the otherwise quiet town. You will also get to know Calamity Crow, the most unlucky bird in town.

Emphasizing friendship, Heroes of the City contains a great deal of warmth and what may be accomplished by helping each other. The cartoon is primarily targeted at children age 3 – 7.

Of course, a movie always goes over well in our house. It’s like a special treat to watch something new. And something as cool as a firetruck and friends? Points for mom. Charlie loved when I handed him the die-cast Fiona and Paulie to play with. He then proceeded to ask for more. There’s a book to go along with the set, which I love. Charlie had Nanny (she stopped over for a bit) read it to him before he went to bed that night.

And… There’s an App!

I think I’ll have to download this for my son. He loves my phone and using it to watch movies but that’s about it. I like that there are so many different games on this one app.

I think the book app would be the best for us – we’re teaching Red iPad ettiquette and need some more “learning and reading” apps to play with!
