We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

This is our first Halloween with both boys. Owen was 2 days old last year and we were still in the hospital. My mom and step-father took Charlie trick or treating last year and we are so excited to be able to take both around this year!
After given a few choices, Charlie decided on being a mailman for Halloween. So, that left Owen as a package or a letter.
Getting pictures isn’t always very easy with two little ones. Charlie boycotts pictures most of the time now and Owen doesn’t stand still long enough, but hopefully you get the idea.
I found a blue button down shirt for Charlie that was getting ready to go in a box to be up for Owen. It’s too short in the arms, so we rolled them up for him to wear it. He has a pair of navy blue khakis that never get worn and were also getting close to the put away box, so they worked out perfectly. I grabbed a plain navy blue hat from Walmart.
I googled some USPS logos and was able to find some great images to use for his costume. I just printed them out on a sheet of iron-on transfer paper and headed to my mom’s. We don’t own an iron. *Shhh….* We were able to put one on his shirt, a little one on a messenger bag for him to carry and a long one on his hat.
Owen’s costume is just a pillow case that I cut a little off the bottom (you know, so he can actually walk around in it). I googled for images of a stamp and found one that was perfect! After a quick iron-on of the stamp, I wrote in a couple addresses and he was ready to go!
We used our Step2 wagon and filled it with a couple extra packages for our little mail carrier to deliver.
At our town’s Fall Spooktacular this year, there was a costume contest that I was very excited to enter the boys in. They didn’t win, but I heard from a couple of the judges that had there been 2 prizes (since I had 2 boys), they would have won. It really doesn’t matter if we win, but it’s nice to know!
They did win the next weekend at our church’s Trunk or Treat event!
