Owen’s 1st Birthday was last week. As a parent, we’re almost required to look at those early pictures to see how much they’ve grown in that year. It feels like just yesterday that we brought home our little boy.
Even though he was our second, we still had those “OMG, it’s a teeny tiny baby!” feelings. You know the ones I’m talking about. No matter how many kids you’ve had, I think you’re always going to worry about things and get a bit nervous about those early newborn days. Once they get a bit bigger, we start to relax (a little anyway).
is helping moms ease the transition to motherhood. Pampers has come out with a couple of helpful assets that will be distributed to hospitals nationwide so Mom is armed with the information needed to march confidently through those first few months of motherhood.
When you have kids, talking about poop like you talk about the weather is no big deal. One of the resources Pampers will be giving to new moms is a stool color card. You can download the card by clicking here.
Even though Owen is now 1, we still ask each other if his poop is the right color. It may not be the most pleasant thing to talk about, but it’s not a big deal at all anymore around here. I’d rather make sure my babies have healthy stool than worry about talking about it around the dinner table. I feel like that’s a “You know you’re a parent when….” kind of thing.
Protecting your little one from diaper rash is easier with information provided by Pampers.
I know that when Charlie was a baby, I felt like crap every time he had diaper rash. There are a million reasons your baby will get diaper rash. It’s okay. It’s usually not your fault. It happens!

My best mom advise is to let the baby lay in the crib for a bit during the day…don’t just set and hold them because that is going to cause them to be used to being held and when they have to go into daycare or have a sitter they will be terribly unhappy because they wont have that constant touch from a person…I had to learn that the hard way with baby #1 and I know it’s hard to do because they are only that little once and when they start running around it’s hard to get them to let you cuddle them.

Moms with newborns, forget about the housework, those perfect lists you used to check off, just sleep when you can, hold baby when you can and take lots of pictures and let your house get messy for awhile.
Christina Shirley says
Just RELAX! Don’t try to be perfect, enjoy this time w/your baby. And give yourself a break – and some time to adjust!
Christina Shirley says
Let your in laws, mom or friends help you! You do not need to feel that you need to do everything by yourself! Also the best routine is to feed the baby when they wake, then give them a bath then dress them, This will give them calmness while bathing and allow them to enjoy bath time more.
