We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
Wrap Presents Like A Pro

The Holiday season is approaching us quickly this year which means you are going to have to spend time wrapping a whole lot of presents! I think we all have our issues with wrapping presents because there are usually so many that you just want to get them all wrapped as quickly as you can and they can tend to get a little sloppy and not like quite as pretty and put together as you would like.
Well, that is not going to be the case anymore because I am going to be providing with you a few simple tips and tricks to make your presents gorgeous and make them look as if you are a pro with your wrapping skills!
1. Quality Paper:
The first step to creating beautifully wrapped presents is to get some high quality paper. If you tend to go the cheaper route and you buy the really paper thin wrapping paper to save money, it’s actually more difficult to wrap because the paper rips easily and you could then have holes in your presents and that is definitely not looking very professional! I would highly recommend just spending a couple of dollars extra to have a bit higher quality paper!
The wrapping paper at Hallmark is heavy-weight and able to hold up while wrapping all those presents! And, look at how cute the designs are!
2. Additives:
Even if you are not the most amazing at actually wrapping your presents, that is what additives are for! If you are wanting to add a bit of that extra umph to your presents, try adding something like a bow or curly ribbon. Adding a bit of pretty flair will definitely make your present instantly look better!
Not only did I add some fun twine and a big bow, I added a small box of peppermint bark! Who wouldn’t appreciate a little treat with their gift?
3. The Right Amount of Paper:
When it comes to wrapping your presents, you will definitely want to measure out your paper for it to fit your present properly. Nothing is worse than your present being too short of paper, or when there is too much paper bunched up. Be sure to take the time to measure out the proper amount of paper that will fit your present properly.
4. Start Wrapping Early
A lot of times our presents that we first start wrapping will look absolutely great but by the time you get towards the end, they start to look a bit messy and a mess. I recommend starting your wrapping early, don’t wait until the last minute to begin wrapping all of your presents. You will be more likely to not get bored with wrapping and want to make them all look great instead of rushing to get them all done at the last minute!
5. Get a Rotary Cutter
Sometimes cutting wrapping paper with scissors can result in uneven cuts, or jagged edges so this is why I would definitely recommend picking up a rotary cutter. A rotary cutter will allow you to be able to make nice, straight, and clean cuts easily!
I actually found this Rollwrap Dispenser at Hallmark. It stores a small roll of paper inside and has a cutter as you pull it out. This makes things so easy!
I know that wrapping presents can be a really tedious task and it can take a lot of time but it makes for really beautiful presents! I would really recommend checking out some of these tips and tricks for making your presents look absolutely gorgeous this Holiday season!

Thanks for the helpful tips! I’m not the best at wrapping, so I need all the help I can get. I love the idea of using a specialty wrapping paper cutter for straight edges.

Wrapping gifts is fun! Thanks for the tips. I just hate how wasteful the paper is. Better to use fabric or something reusable.
