We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

Baking up Christmas cookies has been a tradition for years, but I have to admit I’m one of those parents that just gets stressed out while Charlie is “helping”. Yes, I feel awful about it, but it is what it is and I try to cope. He adores helping Mommy bake and decorate, so I just deal and we get through it.
Love Cooking Company teamed up with Mrs. Fields and sent us some fun products to try. Now that Christmas baking is upon us, we made our first batch of sugar cookies this week. I just made them from a bag mix and hoped it would relieve some of the stress. After Charlie cracked smashed an egg on the table, I knew I made the right decision.
Once our sugar cookie batter was ready, I rolled it all out. I have never figured out how to roll out cookie batter correctly, so if you have some magic tips, please share!
Using the Mrs. Fields Cookie Cuttables – Christmas, we were able to make 16 cookies with just one shot. Well, we would have if I could roll it out correctly. I’m sure most normal people know how to do this. Me? Not so much. But, we were able to get so much more than normally. Remember how I said earlier that making cookies with Charlie stresses me out sometimes? The putting cookie cutters randomly all over the place is part of that. This all in one that makes the most use of the dough eliminates that. He can still push the cookie cutter down and feel like he’s really doing something, while I don’t need to worry about rolling and re-rolling all that dough 100 times just to get 30 cookies made.
I’m pretty much in love with this giant grid to cut cookies and I’ll be picking up the other designs! They also have a birthday one, an Easter one, and a Halloween one!
After the cookies were cut, I used a spatula to put them on our new Love Cooking Gourmet Cool Bake tray and popped them in the oven. I love love love this tray! I don’t know about you, but when I’m taking my cookies off the hot tray, sometimes they get all smushed. With this new cookie tray, after they come out of the oven, I just lift the top tray out and put it aside to cool. The cookies cool right on it! After they’re cool, I still have all of my cookies in tact!
The only thing I need to say about this pan is that your cookies will have little bumps on the bottom from the tray, but that doesn’t matter to me. You can use this tray as a crisper too, think chicken, fish, fries, and so much more!
You know those cool cakes that have fun surprises in the middle? I found the pan to make this easily happen! The Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip Locking Layer Baking Pan allows you to bake your cake in two separate pans. You’ll fill a hole with whatever filling you want (fruit, pudding, candy, you name it!) and then pop the other half of the cake on top. They’ll lock together perfectly and create a surprise inside without everything falling out!
I have some awesome plans for this! I think our first cake is going to be a chocolate cake with strawberry filling! What kind of cake would you make?
We’re always up for fun new desserts to try and Mrs. Fields with Love Cooking Company has made some pans that make new desserts an easy thing at our house! We tried the Brookie Pan and the Cupcake Cone Pan. I keep seeing fun things on pinterest with ice cream cones and cupcakes, but wondered how easy it would be. The Cupcake Cone Pan holds the cones and you just bake like normal. These will be so much fun for parties! No wrappers to take off or extra trash around, the kids can eat the whole thing.
The Brookie Pan combines a brownie and a cookie! Who wouldn’t love that? We made our brownies with chocolate chip cookies in the middle. Excuse the horrible mess of a picture, but this is before they were baked.
After the brookies are completely cooled, you take them out of the pan and you’re left with a little cup. This is the perfect spot to put your ice cream or fruit!
We’re going to have a blast with all of these new baking supplies. They’ll make great gifts for anyone that enjoys baking!
