I had been looking for a large cutting board, so when I was given the chance to review one- I jumped on it.
The previous bamboo cutting board I had recently broke in half. It was small and thin, but I did like it.
This one by Surpahs, I love. It’s large and thick and I fully believe it will last a long time.
This is the 17 x 11 and it is a fantastic size! I can do so much on it and not have to worry about dumping it all over the place. It fits over both burners, not quite the whole length on stove, but far enough to make me very happy!
The thickness (.07”) of the Surpahs Cutting Board gives me faith in the fact that it won’t split in half like my other one. The Surpahs 3-layer bamboo cutting boards are constructed with three-layer overlapping joints that keep them from warping, cracking or splitting.
Some of the benefits of a bamboo cutting board:
Harder and lighter than maple
Less moisture absorbency than traditional hardwoods
Resists odor and bacteria
Natural beautiful finish
ECO friendly
The Surpahs Bamboo cutting board has a really nice juice groove so when I’m cutting fruits and veggies, any juice can just run right off into the groove. The arc in the juice groove allows you to gently lift the board and pour out the juices. This is the first cutting board I’ve seen that has an arc like this. With other boards, when you go to pour the juices out, you make a giant mess anyway.
I made stuffed peppers the other night, so here’s a few pictures so you can see how pretty the Surpahs Bamboo cutting board really is.

I like that it is less absorbent. When I first saw it I thought about all the bacteria that would be drawn into that board and shared with all the other foods you put on the board.

i wonder how easy it is to clean — some hardwood bards have to be oiled instead of a gentle cleaning with soap and water.

I love the cutting board. I have never tried a bamboo one before. Thank you for the pluses of using bamboo.
