This post is part of a kick-butt burger grill giveaway hosted by GirlCarnivore but the burger epicness is all my own.

May is National Burger Month. Did you know that’s a thing? Here in Maryland, we put crab on just about everything. And yes, that includes burgers! For our burger this month, I’m bringing you a burger that’s topped with hot cheesy crab dip, bacon, and more cheese! Our Bacon Chesapeake Burger should definitely be on your summer menu!

For this burger, you’ll need our Hot Cheesy Crab Dip recipe. You can make this ahead of time and throw it on cold if you want or you can have it baking in the oven while you’re grilling up the burgers and getting everything else ready for burger night!

I also made a Chesapeake Aioli or Mayo – I’m not 100% sure on the difference, but this spread is beautiful for your Chesapeake Burger!

To make this, just mix about a tsp of minced garlic, 1/2 tsp of Old Bay, 1/2 cup mayo, and 1/2 tsp lemon juice. You can store this in the fridge until you need it.

Of course, we’re adding some bacon, because, well… bacon.

That spread looks so so good! Did you have a hard time while making it? Is it okay to have a substitute for the crab?
