Chocolate Covered Pretzel and Caramel Cheesecake

In my house, cheesecake is one of our favorite desserts. Charlie helped me put together a super easy, absolutely delicious Better Than Turtle Cheesecake!

We’ve made our own cheesecake before, but that takes time that I don’t always have (or want) to spend. Thanks to Sara Lee, I’m able to pop into Food Lion and grab one ready to go from the freezer!

As we’ve talked about before, getting your kids involved in the kitchen does not have to be a huge production. Kids just want to be involved, no matter what they’re doing.

Adding your own toppings to a frozen cheesecake is the perfect opportunity for the kids to help! Charlie is a big chocolate fan and he was pretty excited about the chocolate we were adding to our cheesecake.

Not going to lie, I sometimes gaze at chocolate covered pretzels just like that. They’re pretty amazing. Sweet and salty, what’s not to love? I thought they would add the perfect amount of crunch to our creamy cheesecake!

To get started, we used some chocolate sauce as glue to place our chocolate covered pretzels around the edge of the cheesecake.

Adding Chocolate Covered Pretzels to Cheesecake

How fun is this for kids to do? This is something simple they can do on their own, which we all know is super important to them. They need that independence.

Next, we drizzled some caramel topping and chocolate topping on our cheesecake. Yummy! I did the chocolate for an example and then let Charlie handle the caramel.

Ready for more chocolate covered pretzels? We put a handful in a plastic bag and then crushed them up! Kids love crushing things, so this is an easy task for even the littlest chef!

We used about 2 cups of broken pretzels to top our Sara Lee Original Cream Classic Cheesecake. And then of course, we had to finish it off with more chocolate topping and caramel topping!

Better Than Turtle Cheesecake

After Charlie and I enjoyed our yummy Better Than Turtle Cheesecake, we talked about how it’s nice to do things for others. While at Food Lion, I made sure to grab two of the Sara Lee cheesecakes: one for our family and another to gift to someone else.

It was easy on my wallet, too. I used the instant redemption coupon on my Sara Lee Original Cream Classic Cheesecake package for $1.50 off the purchase of one cheesecake! The coupons are good through 3/31 while supplies last.

Whether giving to a new Mom, someone who has been sick, or just a surprise for a friend, everyone would love our yummy cheesecake as a treat!

Better Than Turtle Cheesecake is the perfect combination of sweet and salty!

Our Better Than Turtle Cheesecake is a decadent treat that looks like it took a lot of effort to prepare, but the truth is that it is simple enough for a preschooler! Thanks to Sara Lee, I’m able to get a dessert like this ready in just a few minutes!
