The Shirley Journey

Finding Joy in the Journey

Two Weeks in Ireland with Kids

We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

After almost five and a half years, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our diaper days are almost over. Owen is potty training!

I’ve been wrestling babies for a long time and while I miss these boys being so little, I will not miss changing diapers! From the teeny-tiny newborn to the on-the-go toddler, we have turned to Huggies diapers to keep our little ones’ bums dry and comfortable.

With Charlie, our goal was to have him potty-trained before Owen arrived. We fought about it and everyone was so stressed all the time. It took about a year of on-and-off potty-training for something to magically click inside and Charlie was potty-trained and we never looked back.

Because of our adventures with Charlie, I knew I was going to go about it entirely different with Owen. Honestly, I would rather change his diaper until he’s 4 than stress everyone out while attempting to potty-train. We decided with Owen we were going to follow his cues and make sure he was ready. Owen will be 3 at the end of October and he’s off to a great start with this potty-training thing! We cheer every time he goes to the potty and he’s starting to tell us when he has to “go potty”!

Of course, we’re using Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants! Every time Owen goes to get his Pull-Up on, he gets super excited about his favorite characters on them! That does make them super cool, right?!? If it gets him excited about it, I’m excited about it!

You can visit your local Walmart Neighborhood Market® to find everything your baby needs, including your favorite Huggies®, Pull-Ups®, or GoodNites® products. They’re already available at a great price, but I have coupons for you to make it an amazing deal! Just click on the coupons below to print them!

Did you see our new step stool we did for the ocean-themed bathroom? A step stool is a necessity in a bathroom when you’re trying to potty train!

I know things will be quite different in our house once Owen is full potty-trained! I can see the end of our diaper days and it looks pretty awesome!
