I know we all love supporting a good cause, but does it get any better than supporting one for kids? Today I’m telling you about an easy way that you can help give back to an amazing children’s organization!
Meet Audrey.
Audrey’s story could just as easily be our own, which is why it’s the one I’m choosing to share.
Audrey has undergone five open-heart surgeries to correct congenital heart defects, including transposition of great arteries combined with pulmonary stenosis and a ventricular septal defect. Audrey has successfully ended her treatments aside from annual check-ups with her cardiologist. Audrey and her brother Ethan (now in remission after being diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia) are also talented students, musicians and athletes, excelling at a variety of activities. Their entire family acts as inspiring examples and passionate ambassadors for sick and injured kids.
CMN Hospitals funds paid for the hybrid cardiac catheterization suite, where Audrey had her heart surgery. Funds also supported the hospital’s child life services, music therapy and art therapy.
The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treats 16,000 children in emergency rooms every day. In 2012, U.S. members hospitals provided $3.4 billion in charity care! How awesome is that?!?
Every hour, member hospitals provide surgery for 97 children! I just looked up the hospitals near us to see if our children’s hospital is on the list that you can search here. It’s not, but I definitely know how those parents have felt. Charlie had heart surgery when he was 7 weeks old. There is nothing like handing your baby over to a team of doctors heading into an operating room.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provides comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. Some of them may be suffering from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or they may be fighting bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer. To show support for the organization and the one in 10 kids in North America who are treated by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year, Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 in the month of June!
You can help by purchasing products like Pampers Swaddlers at your local Walmart. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. I know that we can always use more diapers and wipes. If your children are out of diapers, consider purchasing to donate to your local church, women’s shelter or keep in your closet for a future baby shower! All moms appreciate the gift of diapers!
Your support and donations is what keeps these hospitals going, making them able to help more kids! You can also make a direct donation online.
And… thanks to the partnership with Walmart, Pampers and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we have a great giveaway for you! Enter to win a $25 Walmart Gift Card in the widget below to help you purchase Pampers products, meaning free Pampers for you + a donation to CMNH!
