We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

These crazy boys are my entire world. Getting them to cooperate for pictures is not the easiest thing to do, but we always wind up with some great shots! The week before we left for our Beaches vacation, we had fall pictures taken at Portrait Innovations. It was our first time at their studio, so I had no idea what to expect.
From the minute we walked in, I felt comfortable. There were at least five employees standing at the desk ready to help. We were told to change and just let them know when we were all set.
Owen was up first because I wanted to make sure we got some cute birthday shots for him!
How cute is this kid? I love the relaxed look and feel of my boy with his feet up. The photographer was amazing with him. We’ve been to other professional portrait studios where I left in tears because they expected my baby to sit and pose. You can’t do that with little ones.
This baby boy is full of giggles, but the whole shoot did not go that way. Our photographer ended up calling in another girl to help with the boys. I absolutely loved that there were enough people to do this.
As for Charlie’s part of the shoot, this boy turned it on! He was so relaxed and super cool.
With Charlie, we often get this weird fake smile that looks painful. Not here! Look at this boy’s smile! He had so much fun and you can really see his real personality come through.
What I really loved about going to Portrait Innovations is that we walked out with pictures! I didn’t feel rushed during our shoot, they were super patient with a tired and uncooperative Owen, and I wasn’t pressured to buy things we don’t need.
After our shoot we sat down at a big screen to view our photos. The selection process they use is genius: three similar pictures at a time and pick your favorite out of each set. This is a great way to narrow things down. When it was all said and done, we had about a thirty minute wait to pick our pictures back up. Our Portrait Innovations is in a big mall, so we just hit another store that I needed to go to while we were waiting.
You can see our great family picture in our frame that we made. Getting four people to smile nicely at the camera (at the same time) is definitely a challenge, but I think we nailed it.
As for the frame, grab some buttons in whatever color you’d like and a plain wooden frame. I went for fall colors, some football buttons, and our Ravens colors. Charlie also pointed out that the orange is for the Orioles, so I guess it’s a Baltimore frame all around.
You’re going to go completely down the side, a row at a time. Just use a little super glue and add the buttons as they fit. Charlie helped Mommy by handing me buttons. I didn’t let him help with the gluing because I know his fingers would have been stuck to something or possibly together.
You could go so many ways with this frame, but I love how ours turned out with the fall colors and team colors!
If you need to get family pictures taken, find your local Portrait Innovations. There are always special offers going on, so I know you’ll be able to get a ton of pictures without breaking the bank. You shouldn’t have to spend a ton to get family picture. They also have products available that make great gifts that you can order at the same time as your prints.
How often do you get family pictures?
