Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. — Get serious about losing weight with Jenny Craig!
I just finished my 8th week on the Jenny Craig program and it feels amazing to say that I’ve lost 19.6 lbs in those 8 weeks. (Results not typical. Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration.)
I want to break a few things down for you and share what I learned during my first two months on the Jenny Craig program. Yes, I said first, because I am definitely continuing!
I Won’t Starve
When we think about diets and losing weight, I think it’s safe to say we all assume we’ll be starving. On the Jenny Craig program, I feel like I’m eating all the time! Seriously! I get breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner, and a snack/dessert in the evening! That’s a lot of food!
Being serious about losing weight doesn’t mean you have to give up enjoying the foods you love. Jenny Craig has more than 100 menu items, where 40 professional chefs make all the difference. I love food. If you’re a regular reader here, you know that.
The Jenny Craig food is good. There are a few things I don’t like, but I’ve been surprised by things I didn’t think I would like, but actually love! The Butternut Squash Ravioli is probably one of my absolute favorites! Yum!
Each Day is a New Day
Slip-ups happen. Maybe the kids were eating pizza and I really just had to have a slice? That’s okay. All is not lost. Each day is a new day to start over and get back on track. Skip a workout? Start again tomorrow!
I think we’re all too hard on ourselves. Or maybe not hard enough? When we mess up something, it’s not the time to just give in and give up. Get over it and keep going!
Everyone is Cheering Me On
With Jenny Craig, I always have someone cheering me on and motivating me to keep me on track. I have seen three different consultants during my 9 appointments I have had so far, but that’s just because I change up the time of day depending on what works for me that week.
What I love is that no matter who I meet with, they are there to support me. And I really mean that. They really do care about how I’m doing and how I feel.
My Portion Sizes Were All Wrong
I always put my Jenny Craig food on a real plate with my added veggies. Seeing the difference between the correct portion size and what I was eating prior has been a huge eye-opener for me. I am now eating more veggies than anything else on my plate.
I Won’t be Eating Jenny Craig Food Forever
Honestly, every time I’ve seen one of those commercials I thought, “yeah… it works while you’re on it and then you gain it all back immediately”.
That’s wrong though. The goal is not to eat Jenny Craig food for the rest of your life to maintain your weight loss. Surprise, right?!? I just talked about portion size and that’s where this really comes into play. When you transition off the Jenny Craig meals, you need to remember those portion sizes and to eat all your vegetables, while laying off the extra sugar.
Jenny Craig even has a maintenance plan once you’ve reached your goal. You’ll meet monthly with your consultant one-on-one and they will help you stay on track.
It’s Easy
Losing weight can’t be easy, right? Wrong! Seriously, I almost feel a little guilty posting my weekly updates of my weight loss on my personal facebook page. I know I have friends that are struggling to lose weight (just like I was) and they are working really hard to do it.
Then there’s me. I’m on Jenny Craig. It’s like I’m cheating. It’s that easy. I follow my menu, eat my food, and lose weight. Jenny Craig members can expect to lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week, which is a healthy range of weight loss.
I hope you’ll follow along as I continue on this weight loss journey on the Jenny Craig program. I’ll be sharing monthly weight loss updates and other posts along the way.
