We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
Weight Loss Update: 8 Months on Jenny Craig

Thanks to Jenny Craig for sponsoring today’s post and continuing to support me on this weight loss journey.
That woman up there feels like a brand new woman most of the time. After 8 months on Jenny Craig, I’m down 43.6 lbs (Avg. 1-2 lbs lost per week). That is a lot of weight. For me though, it’s not just about the weight. It’s about making those better choices and exercising more, and showing my boys that Mommy is making healthy choices.
And all of those healthier choices have made me 43.6 lbs lighter, a few sizes smaller, and so much more confident. This girl smiles more often and takes selfies every day (I’ll save that post for another day).
I love that Jenny Craig is always adding new items to their menu. Some of the recent additions for the fall include Pumpkin Loaf, Pumpkin Spice Cakes, Pecan Glazed Chicken, and a Ramen Noodle Bowl with Chicken & Veggies.
I was a little skeptical about the Ramen Noodle Bowl, but I LOVE it!
The past couple of months have been a little bit of a struggle for me and weight loss has slowed down, but I’m still happy with my loss thus far.
I’m happy that school is back in session and I’m getting back into my mornings at the gym routine. I think having a daily routine in general is helpful for weight loss, no matter what program you’re using.
Personally, I love that Jenny Craig has made this so easy for me. There’s no counting calories or figuring things out. I follow the pre-planned menu for my specific calorie (based on my weight and goals) needs. Right now, I’m on a 1200 calorie menu and I eat plenty throughout the day!
Through your individual consultant, Jenny Craig teaches you lifestyle changes that are actually maintainable once you’ve learned important parts of healthy living including portion control, moderation, hydration, and activity. While I’m not dropping 5 lbs/week, I’m enjoying the process and know that I am doing it in a healthy way that I’ll be able to continue when I am no longer on Jenny Craig.
Stay tuned for next month’s 9 month weight loss update!
