We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
Strawberries and Cream Ice Pops for Kids

Mealtime with a toddler can definitely be an adventure! They are absolutely crazy sometimes. I know in our house, dinner is usually followed immediately by bath time. We just strip him down and head for the tub.
Lucky for us, Owen is a good eater as far as what he eats. Owen gladly eats meat, cheese, fruits, and veggies for us. I guess you figured out that he’s not a neat eater though. Food ends up everywhere and that’s not just from Owen. Charlie is 5 and he tends to make just as much of a mess.
As a mom though, it’s still natural to wonder if our little ones are getting the nutrients they need. Kids are on-the-go all the time and they’re not always in the mood to settle down and eat a meal.
Specially designed for toddlers 12 – 24 months, Stage 3 Gerber Good Start Grow is a nutritious toddler drink with probiotics to support digestive health. It helps nourish toddler tummies so they can focus on what makes them and you happy: their growing independence!
Since we’re just getting started with the heat of summer, I decided to make a yummy ice pop using our new toddler drink.
- 6 oz of water
- 3 scoops of Stage 3 Gerber Good Start Grow
- 2 cups plain yogurt, low fat
- about 12 strawberries
- Mix 3 scoops of Stage 3 Gerber Good Start Grow into 6 oz of water.
- In a blender, combine 6 strawberries, mixed Gerber Toddler Drink, and yogurt.
- Slice the remaining strawberries and distribute among ice pop molds.
- Pour strawberry yogurt mixture into the molds.
- Put wooden sticks in or whatever your molds call for.
- Freeze 4 hours or until firm.
The boys have really been enjoying these special Strawberries and Cream Ice Pops that I made for them. And of course, I love knowing that there are important nutrients that are essential for them inside this yummy treat including probiotics to help support digestive health and DHA and iron to help support brain development.

Taking each stage step by step is the answer, I never like to rush onto the next food. Pretty easy going transitioning that way. 🙂 The pops looks real good!

My son has always been a stubborn and picky eater. He will rarely eat raw fruits and never raw veggies (although cooked veggies he will eat more of than cooked fruits.) Like most kids he would eat sweet stuff all day if I let him though. So i lie to him and tell him his tubes of frozen greek yogurt is ice cream and his homemade granola bars with dried fruits and nuts are candy bars.

Looks delish and quite a hit. How do u get the sticks to stay straight. Do u let it sit in the freezer until it’s a bit more solid?
Christina says
Hi Jeanna,
The mold that I use has a top that the sticks slide right into. It keeps everything nice and straight. About 4 hours in the freezer and they’re perfect.

For kids? pfft, I’ll make these delicious popsicles for myself! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Yum! My daughter just started getting into popsicles, and just in time for the summer. She loves fruits, especially strawberries so this the perfect treat for her! If I don’t have the Gerber Good Start on hand, perhaps milk can be a substitute? or maybe juice as well? Thank you so much for sharing this with us on #shinebloghop, this week! Happy to have you, Christina!

My oldest daughter would eat about anything but my youngest daughter was extremely picky and still is. It’s hard to get her to eat anything different. I wish I could go back and start when she was young with trying to feed her all types of different foods. It would have made things a lot easier.

I don’t have toddlers myself, but I’ve been very active in the care of my nieces and nephews and boy do I remember the toddler phase of feeding them. It was a real struggle sometimes to get them to eat even the foods they said they wanted to eat.
Jaime Cummings says
My three children have very distinct food preferences and aversions. My 6-year-old loves a variety of foods, including vegetables and salads. His 4-year-old sister likes chicken and milk, but doesn’t have any use for most other sources of protein. My 2-year-old’s preferences are constantly changing. Getting something on the table that everyone will eat is a real challenge.
