We had a busy weekend with lots of fun for July 4th. On the actual holiday this year, we didn’t do anything, but that’s okay because we made up for it!

Saturday we went to Nanny’s and played in the pool with all the cousins, had a cookout, and played some more. By the time we got home, Charlie looked like this:

Charlie crashed after family

So… after I woke him up, we went outside to do a couple small fireworks. Apparently he’s forgotten what sparklers are because he just kept trying to blow it out. It was funny. And sad. After deciding he was too tired to even stand, he sat down and Daddy did a sparkler while Charlie watched.

Sunday we had church and then debated on going to the fireworks in town. They were originally scheduled for Thursday but were rained out. We decided to head on in- we live about 3 minutes away from the town park where the celebration takes place, but sometimes it’s just too much hassle to get in and out of town that we skip. I’m so glad that we went though!

We walked around the park for a bit to check out the fire truck, ambulance, armed forces vehicles, and the water.

Yes… this is why I love my town and we’ll never move too far away.

We took turns holding Owen. These were his first fireworks and he loved them! Charlie loves the fireworks

Both boys crashed hard before we were home. There’s just something awesome about kiddos sleeping in the car. You know you had a good day!

Whatever you did this holiday weekend, I hope you were safe and had a great time.

Oh yes! When they can’t keep their eyes open any longer, you know they’ve had a blast! And don’t they just look double-cute being asleep like that?

I agree, you know it was a good day when the kids are crashed out in the car. Truer still when you only live a few minutes away, lol! #Precious

We had a busy weekend, which ended with us leaving for our vacation! And somehow I totally forgot to buy sparklers for my son. I don’t know how I let that happen.

What a weekend you had… busy, busy, busy. I remember doing those wire sparklers when I was a kid and I always, always burned myself.

Seems like he had a really fun day. My little one doesn’t know what sparklers are either so would have done the same thing. 🙂 They are too cute!
