We’ve done pretty well at establishing a bedtime routine with Charlie. Owen has just this past week stopped nursing to sleep, so we’re working on a new routine for him that will be similar to Charlie’s. At bedtime, we brush teeth, cuddle in bed, talk about our day, say our prayers and read a book.
We were recently sent a new book to add to our collection, Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers. This fits into our bedtime routine perfectly. Charlie gets to snuggle up with Mommy, read a prayer and then we’ll still normally read a short book before bed.
Charlie really loves his cuddle time with Mommy and just talking about our day. I think it’s so important for him to know I’m there and listening to him when he needs me.
The past couple of weeks have been really hard with Charlie at bedtime. He’s been saying that he’s scared of monsters, shadows and pretty much everything in his room. This lands him in our bed in the middle of the night and that’s just not flying with us. Mommy and Daddy need their sleep, too! Although the book has Bedtime in the title, there a prayers for any time of day included. In the bedtime section though, we found a few that were perfect for Charlie this week that touched on angels or Jesus keeping him safe through the night and put his fears in the hands of God.
This collection of 200 prayers is an amazing resource for families to use at bedtime (or any time) and would make a great gift for new moms, baptisms, dedications, and holidays.
Not only will the kids love the prayers and illustrations throughout, there’s a beautiful intro for you, parents!
Thanks to Tommy Nelson, one Mom’s Messy Miracles reader will win a copy of Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers!

Praying every night before sleeping in the bed is a good routine! It helps you closer to our Almighty God. Keep praying every day.
