We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]
Lunch Box Favorites

Some items may have been received for review, but we love them all equally!
We’ve been doing the lunch box thing for almost two months now. I want to share some of our favorite things that we use for our lunch boxes!
To start things off, you need a lunch box to put things in! We love using the Skip Hop Zoo Lunchies to pack lunches.
There are over twenty different animals you can choose from, so I know there’s one that you’ll love! They certainly make lunchtime a little more fun! They’re sized perfect for little kids or even mom. The insulated, wipe-clean interior is a nice roomy compartment with a mesh pocket to hold an ice pack or utensils.
Now that you have your lunch bag picked out, you need something to put the actual food in! I love these 3-compartment containers.
These are easy for kids to open and close. Because of that, they’re not leak-proof, so don’t put runny foods or liquids in them.
Most of the time, you’re going to have something packed in that lunch that needs to stay cool. I love these slim ones because they easily fit into the bag without taking up much space.
I love having several ice packs available to use. Sometimes when Charlie gets in from school, his ice pack doesn’t always make it from the bag back to the freezer. Having more already frozen is definitely important!
Charlie is not a big sandwich person, but with some sandwich cutters, they’re a little more interesting to him!
I love the Silly Sandwich Cutters from Munchkin! With the 3-pack, you can mix it up a bit!
If you’re into the Bento Box thing, these silicone baking liners will definitely help you out with that!
This silicone baking set includes both round and rectangle liners, making it easier for you to fit your lunch!
For drinks, we usually opt for a juice pouch. I don’t need to worry about them bursting or somehow opening in the bag. Our favorite to pack for lunch (and enjoy around the house or on-the-go) are Honest Kids Organic Juice Drink Pouches.
What I love about the Honest Kids pouches is that they’re not just convenient, but they’re something I can feel good about giving my kid. In 2013, Honest Tea removed the organic cane sugar from all Honest Kids varieties. They were able to find a way to deliver the same great taste by sweetening the juice drinks only with fruit juice! The boys love all of the flavors, but I think Tropical Tango Punch is the favorite around here!
You can find Honest Kids Pouches on Amazon or in your local grocery store.
Honest Kids Juice Drinks are also available in 59 oz containers. When I have the larger containers in the refrigerator, I use a Thermos Foogo to keep it in the lunch bag.
I love that the Thermos Foogo keeps drinks cold in its stainless steel container. This thing is actually kid-proof! My boys are not easy on things, but this can hold up.
On days when Charlie does not want a sandwich or wrap, we like to give him some crackers or pretzels and a Skippy Single. They’re perfect for dipping!
If he doesn’t use his peanut butter for crackers or pretzels, he can use it for apples or carrots! I love knowing he’s getting some protein in while enjoying his lunch.
We always try to include fruit or veggies and a snack size bag of cookies or crackers. Some of our favorites are Annie’s, Goldfish, and Nabisco snacks.
I like to buy a variety in larger quantities to help save money and at the same time, we’re able to mix it up and not send the same thing every day.
What are some of your favorite items for lunch boxes?

The puzzle sandwich cutter is too cute!
How do you use the silicone baking liners? Inside of Tupperware?
Christina says
Yes, I use the silicone baking liners inside of our large lunchbox container.
