We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

Spring is here! That means the flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and there’s more sun in the day! Now, if someone would let Mother Nature know that it’s supposed to be warmer, we’d be doing great. This past week, the weather dropped and we’ve only been reaching about 55°, which is just crazy because two weeks ago we were seeing 80°.
Anyway, the boys need to get their crazies out and run around outside. We are at least able to ditch the heavy winter coats and go with jackets now, so that makes running around and exploring a bit easier.
Owen is my runner. This kid will just run any chance he gets. I’m not sure this picture quite captures this hill, but he tumbles every time he gets to the bottom because he keeps picking up speed as he goes down.
We haven’t had the chance to get to one of the hiking trails yet this year, but we do take walks around our neighborhood. There’s a nice little playground and a small trail here though. The problem with our playground is all of the runoff from the rain seems to wind up there, making for a muddy mess. You just cringed, right? I’m trying not to these days and instead, just letting the kids be kids.
Owen absolutely loves this slide. It’s crazy tall and the steps are really steep for him to climb up (so much in fact that Daddy doesn’t let him do it). I let him go down twice because that’s all my heart can take. Oh, and this slide dumps out into a giant mud puddle. Like, all the time, no rain required.
We decided to go for a scavenger hunt on our walk around the playground area this week. Print your own copy of the Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt by clicking the image below.
Remember how I said I’m trying to just let the kids be kids and not worry about all that mess? That’s because I have all® free clear detergent, the #1 Recommended brand by Dermatologists, Allergists, and Pediatricians. Like their Daddy, the boys have sensitive skin. all® free clear allows my family to look and feel their best while living free from sensitive skin worries.
I pick up the largest bottle I can find at Sam’s Club. In a house with little ones, we definitely go through some laundry.
Now print out the free nature walk scavenger hunt, grab the kiddos, and get out there! You can walk around your neighborhood, the playground, a park, a hiking trail, a pond, whatever! Just go for it! And don’t worry about letting them loose and exploring on their own.
I love just watching the boys be boys. I hope they are always as adventurous and as curious as they are right now. I know as moms, we like to keep them clean, but sometimes they really just need to get a little messy!
What are some of your favorite ways to get out there and get dirty with your kids?

Great printable! Thank you for sharing it! We did something like this with our grandkids last summer and they had so much fun. We can’t wait for the sun to come out and temps to rise so we can get outside.
