We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Seriously friends, fall is football season and we’re big football fans in this house!
This past Sunday was the first Football Sunday of the year and I can’t even begin to tell you how happy that makes me! Sundays in our house are reserved for church and football. I see a lot of fancy football food and parties that look like they took a ton of time to put together, but that’s just not my style. I like easy. I need easy.
I picked up a few things for our first Football Sunday at Walmart. I grabbed a couple of Red Baron pizzas, ingredients for yummy meatballs, and an Edwards pie for dessert!
As I said, I like things to be quick and easy for Sundays especially, so I made the meatballs ahead of time and popped them in the fridge for Sunday morning.
- For the meatballs:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- ¾ cup bread crumbs
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper
- For the BBQ Sauce:
- 2 cups BBQ sauce
- 2 Tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Add all ingredients for meatballs to a large mixing bowl.
- Using hands, mix until well combined.
- Ball into 1-2" meatballs.
- Place balls onto broiler pan or put into mini-muffin pan.
- Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
- When ready, put meatballs into slow cooker.
- Stir all sauce ingredients together and pour over meatballs in slow cooker.
- Cook on LOW for 3-4 hours.
Before church Sunday, I pulled the meatballs from the fridge and put them in the slow cooker. All I had to do was stir up the easy sauce and pour it over the meatballs before we were on our way. Walking into a house that smells delicious is definitely one of my favorite things!
When we got home from church on Sunday, I took the Red Baron pizza out of the freezer and tossed it in the oven. Less than 20 minutes later, we were ready to enjoy some yummy food while watching the first of the afternoon games!
Red Baron is our go-to pizza. We always have two in our chest freezer! Pizza always makes for an easy dinner, so it’s no surprise that it’s perfect for watching football! If you’re not familiar with Red Baron, give it a try! One bite and the whole family will be asking for more.
While the pizza was cooking, I sliced some dinner rolls and made up a few sliders with two meatballs and shredded cheddar cheese. Of course, you can also just eat the meatballs with a fork, but I love food you can just grab and eat for football!
Do you like throwing your own football parties? If so, you’re going to want to enter the Tailgate At Your Place Sweepstakes. Look for specially marked packages of Red Baron products while shopping for your parties. When you enter, you could win one of many instant win prizes like Visa Gift Cards, Fanatics Gift Cards or Pizza Prize Packs. There will also be 5 Grand Prize Winners that will receive a check valued at $8,000, a $2,000 Electronics Store shopping spree and 6 months of pizza for the football season!
My local Walmart had two doors of Red Baron pizzas to choose from!
Don’t worry, we had dessert! Edwards makes some awesome frozen pies, meaning I just had to pull it out after church to thaw a bit before eating. Again, easy is pretty much my goal in life!
How do you tailgate at your place?

boy oh boy if I was your neighbor I’d pretend to like football for the whole season just to have some of these meatballs. Of course, I’m dreaming so I can make up a batch – or two – or more – they do look that good. A nice buffet!!

Looks delicious! This recipe would be good for a weeknight dinner, too. I’m looking for stuff to pop in the crockpot for sandwiches.

That makes an easy football (or any other) party. Thanks.
